I’ve never really played any porn games more hardcore than Baldur’s Gate 3 before, but you remember a couple weeks ago when GOG gave away those NSFW games, as a direct response to the whole thing?
Well I claimed the bundle just to boost their numbers (because censorship is bullshit), but recently I needed a low-difficulty gaming distraction, so I checked a few of them out, and… some of them are kind of good?
Like first off you have to be okay with visual novels (usually), but if you’re cool with that, some of them actually have some compelling characters, and occasionally even good gameplay in between all the fucking and whatnot.
Leap of Love is amusing, kind of adorable when it comes to the not-sex stuff, and charming. It is also a game where you (a former frog) can marry and simultaneously bed 3 princesses and their stepmother after deposing of the evil king. My brain is still trying to reconcile this.
Huniepop is one of the best match 3 puzzle games I’ve ever played, with a chill as hell soundtrack. Also a scantily-clad foul-mouthed love fairy wants you to fuck every woman in a 5 mile radius who can fog a mirror.
And Crom help me, when I finished… sigh… Fetish Locator Week 1, I actually cared enough about some of the characters to buy the next one.
The point is, some of these games have more depth and value than I’d been led to believe, and I wouldn’t have known that if the censorship thing hadn’t started that chain of events. So congrats censorship people, and honestly thanks, I guess? Completely the opposite of your intended effect. Task failed successfully.

For vnovels, check out Katawa Shoujo. It has a great storyline and characters, and it’s free!
If you’re looking for a platformer I’d recommend Flipwitch - Forbidden Sex Hex
Flipwitch is a fantastic little Metroidvania that I can’t talk to my “normal” gaming friends about.
Man, you’re mean. You can’t recommend that without at least a warning of the box of tissues that you’ll need nearby. You’ll be responsible for water stains on desks everywhere.
russell vought is behind the porn bans.
Vought?
that too, funny thing the boyz vought(the current series)is loosely based that guy too.
I despise visual novels.
They lack the good writing of a proper novel.
They lack the art work a comic can provide.
They aren’t games, but are for some reason sold as one.
They a sub-par mix of things other mediums do significantly better.
It’s okay to just admit you got one of the bad endings.
That’s assuming I could even force my way through any VN to get to an ending.
I’m not a masochist.
There are novels that don’t measure up to the writing of visual novels.
There are comics that don’t measure up to the art of visual novels.
There are video games that are less engaging than visual novels.
Broad generalizations like this are so useless. It’s okay that you play one or two visual novels and they weren’t for you. I don’t particularly like visual novels either, but to discredit an entire genre because of it is just ignorant. I’ve played some visual novels that were excellent and pushed the boundaries of video games. See Slay the Princess and Doki Doki Literature Club. I’m playing Date Everything right now, it’s not exactly innovative, but I’m having fun with it.
That’s a load of crap. Visual novels are such an incredibly low bar on literally every front, if you made a comic or a novel that’s worse than a VN you’d have been actually trying to out-shit VNs.
I wish there were more games that had NSFW stuff, but not as the main focus. BG3, Cyberpunk, The Witcher, etc all have nudity, but the sex scenes are short, cropped, and half assed because they are embarrassed.
There needs to be quicktime events, better cinematics, and werewolves (BG3, Elder Scrolls, Witcher) during erotic scenes. Bring back A/O games. Many of these shouldn’t be even remotely aimed at anyone below 18 anyways.
Hell, the last genuinely fun game with kink in it was Saints Row 3, and that was for comedic effect.
Damn I missed the cumshot quick time event. I’m not going to get an s rank for this chapter. Guess I gotta reload…
These are the QTEs that Aphrodite wanted us to have.
Imagine the debuff that blueballs would inflict because you missed the quicktime event
Imagine if the game knew you save scummed and gave you a blue balls debuff.
You could easily code the game to do that, and it would be hilarious.
You will never see 18+ only games that comes close to Cyberpunk or BG3 in scope. Because most retailers won’t stock A/O games, and these publishers still get a significant portion of revenue from these retailers selling physical games. And these games are simply too expensive to make to ignore those retailers.
Buttknight was a really good arcade scroller shooter. The unlockable scenes weren’t interractive, but actually unlocking them was a ton of fun. Short game too.
I’ve been into nsfw games for a while, but I do genuinely enjoy a lot of them. Corruption of Champions 2 is a great game, with a lot of customization and great characters, though it is apparent that the game isn’t finished yet.
Tales of Androgyny has some of the highest quality scenes I’ve encountered in an nsfw game. It’s also pretty funny. More games should have a femboy protagonist, is all I’m saying.
Oh man, CoC is a name I haven’t heard in a loooong long time. I think I have a save file and the original flash version hanging around somewhere.
He’s the main love interest, not the protag, but have you seen Haunted by Femboy? A little on the silly side, but I enjoyed the demo.
I did see that but haven’t gotten around to playing it
It’s not out just yet, but it sounded like they’re close based on the discussion board. Demo took me an hour or two to run through, worth the time if you like the subject matter. Quinn is adorbs.
Sounds promising, I’ll check it out!
I never paid attention to adult games until all this controversy happened. The Streisand effect must be doing its thing on people.
I too claimed the games to support the cause. I randomly chose Treasure of Nadia to start and found myself really enjoying the game and story. I just finished it last week and went on to buy the developers other titles (⁀ᗢ⁀).
I’ll have to give the other titles a try soon!
I’ve been wanting to play that game for so long! It looks so good, outside the porn aspect.
I would recommend it. It’s got an interesting story, problem solving, and great puzzles. There isn’t any story impacting decisions because the main character sleeps with everyone.
I’m playing the prequel to Treasure of Nadia, Lust Epidemic and don’t like it as much. It’s older and the animation isn’t as good and the story is much more rapey and cringey than TN. So it’s nice to see that the developer has grown. And also the games are connected. I’m not sure how yet, but I did meet characters from Lust Epidemic in Treasure of Nadia. I bought the latest offering from the developer, The Genesis Order, because of course it continues. But I might hold off on playing that and jump back into Expedition 33.
I think The Genesis Order looked good to me, too. I did not realize that Lust Epidemic was related, though. I wouldn’t have though it even had a similar vibe.
The more people play and buy porn games, the better porn games will get, same as any other genre.
My recommendations:
Most steam erotica games started out as poor quality visual novels or clone games with titties but the scene is really shaping up to something much more interesting!
I personally like Galaxy War’s “Let’s Get Married!” series, which is two puzzle games. The premise is to advance through dungeons by spending health, keys, and money. Enemies are not just obstacles, they drop money and the route you take through each level will determine what resources you have down the line. The meta game is to keep track of routes, and in future playthroughs, have a more precise plan that accounts for the future. It is very math-based, since there is no RNG. Each action is a tradeoff. It is the same gameplay as DROD RPG and Tower of the Sorcerer. The characters and molestation elements feel similar to Rance, though more good-natured.
The Dungeon of Lulu Farea is the first entry.
Another game of interest is Monster Girl Dreams. While I personally don’t care much for the battle fuck system, I very much like the variety of characters and the large amount of dialogue that can be had with them. The game is freeware, and well worth playing if you enjoy lovey-dovey sex with monster girls.
In a similar vein to Lulu Farea, I am interested in Star Knightess Aura. Some resources cannot be replenished during a playthrough, so you need to consider routing. The plot might be interesting, as it is about brainwashing the protagonist. You select what aspects of her personality are altered, changing her one thing at a time. For those who are into corruption, I think it holds promise.
WoohooOoooOooOoOo…. Barbara Streisand
One other side point that came to mind after the main post.
We’re so conditioned to think realistic violence in games is fine, but realistic sex in games is “wrong” or “sad”. But honestly, I realized I played through 3+ games without doing any violence* and had a blast, and that was actually really refreshing.
*okay, no non-consensual violence. I may have slapped Lyssa’s dick around, but she requested it.
Please note that this is mostly an American thing, in European TV and books we have naked people and (not too explicit detail in TV, books differ) sex.
Some of us are always wondering about this. Something 18+ might be sex or gore related.
Kinda funny to see it in Canada as well, especially when you throw Quebec culture into the mix (things seem a little more sex positive over there compared to other parts of the country, which is neat to think about sometimes).
Thanks, it’s always nice to get more cultural info.

japanese manga is a nice counter to this
the media targeted to older readers has many well done stories that contain realistic sexuality (good and bad)
and i’m not talking about the stupid shit like jacking it in the river gave me a half fish half man son
I’ve always felt that puritanical stigmatization of sex and sexuality have really fucked us up psychologically as a species.
Puritanism comes down to “happiness is bad.“
Not just sex; dancing, music, poetry, novels, games, decorations. Anything which takes joy in life and expression is forbidden.
Suffering while alive is seen as the proper punishment for being born human - seeing people and nature as beautiful and divine is legitimately blasphemy to these people.
And gods forbid you enjoy suffering, that’s right out
Axes entering skulls give pleasure to the psychopaths we let run our societies.
I remember a quote from a famous porn actor “nacho vidal”.
“I’d rather have my kids playing with “fake plastic penises” around the house than playing with fake plastic firearms.”
I’m not comfortable with the idea of kids playing with sexual toys. But it makes me feel something weird that I’m not more weirded out by kids playing to kill with fake guns.
I’m pretty sure a majority of people touched a real penis before touching a real gun.

I think onscreen chemistry peaked in Casino Royale. Now it all feels clinical/sterile.

Yeah, usually the stars are classically attractive still, but there’s a lot more space for other people in other roles. I think comedy in particular has a lot of stars who aren’t incredibly hot.
However, probably a lot of people who are getting jobs as extras are trying to make their way in the industry. The industry, being dominated by attractive people, attracts attractive people. Ugly people fear they wouldn’t succeed, so it creates a selection bias.
I didn’t expect a media critique article to make it click why I don’t find “ideal” body types half as attractive as a chick with a realistic belly (honestly of any size sans starvation) and a flirtatious smile.
But yeah, media and culture have become largely sterilized in regards to sex.
Omg what an utter dogshit of an article this is. I bet a fat person expecting unnecessary sex scenes in action movies wrote it. Like go watch some BBW porn you whale.
She’s talking about morons like you.
well tbf one of the detailed sex scenes (in the book) is between a 30 yrs old khal drogo with a 13 year old daenerys targaryen, and it’s being depicted as a good thing, he’s the first guy that cares about her
And then you usually get “But the sex isn’t realistic!!!”… yeah? Neither is the violence, unless you are frequently the Doomslayer or something?!
Like, how is that even an argument. How can violence in games be preferrable to sex?!
Part of the actual answer to that question is that, while violence is often loud and public (and sometimes government sanctioned on massive scales), sex is something that is usually done in private, intimate settings without observers.
Leading up to the release of Cyberpunk 2077 there was a relatively innocent post about whether players would be able to romance anyone and sleep with them. The absolute mockery and scorn OP received was shameful. It really struck me because it was so clear how we’ve been conditioned to reject sexuality while at the same time being ultra-desensitized to violence.
What I do recall was one guy asking very specific questions about how much we would be able to customize genitals, and whether sex would be fully interactive with visuals of full penetration.
And while none of those things are wrong per se, the general vibe of asking about all of those things was very weird and pervy.
And? What is the answer to these questions? Asking for a friend …
I was pretty surprised that they did have genital customization in the game, no on the other two questions though.
Hm maybe my memory of the post is fuzzy but that is more pervy than I recalled. Still gets to the larger point though about how we talk about violence in graphic detail with no self-consciousness but can’t do the same for sexuality.
Showing examples of your point, even :)
Unshackle your mind. Reject the puritanism bonk and embrace the horniness tentacles.
beating beats beating
You know that even fantasy sex is a problem to the puritan mind, even mild representations of sex like activities becomes weird. Well in the Western society that is. I found out that some temples in India are finely decorated with more or less explicit scenes. In certain societies sex is seen as an engine. The issue with violence is that it isn’t just highly but it’s nearly a constant in our western society. Go back to the middle ages, how many people whacked each other in popular imagery. Even recently we have seen more violence than ever. Gore doesn’t do much any longer for many adults, but it’s supposed to elicit a strong evolutionary reflex of disgust and fear. I feel we’ve been overexposed to these things, but not others.
It was wild being raised by my mother who didn’t mind if I saw consensual sex, because I should eventually have sex, but restricted all violence because ideally I’ll never see violence in person.
I have no idea how good this is a philosophy for raising children. Sample size is too small.
Welcome to the club! Theres tons of Japanese eroge that became anime like Fate. Just because theres sexy time, don’t mean the story aint a banger either!
Oh right, I have actually heard that about Fate. I never played any of the games, but I caught a lot of Unlimited Blade Works when my wife was watching it, and it seemed pretty solid.
I’ve still got the original visual novels sitting on my backup drive, somewhere. I played through the major first storyline, but hadn’t gotten around to UBW and… oh boy, heaven’s something? Definitely was a great read, even after starting with the anime.
Yeah nah there is no gameplay there its pure coomer shit. Match 3 puzzle game, thats not a genre the only games that use that has their core gameplay are designed to be scams.
Maybe the match 3 stuff, but there are a lot of ‘adult’ games that are beyond that. Go play The Last Sovereign and tell me it isn’t better than all the final fantasies, I dare you.
I was going to mention The Last Sovereign in this thread. It’s a little bit hard to recommend because it’s like, barely modified RPG maker sprites and some serviceable art for sex scenes, along with the difficulty. However that game is a damn magnum opus.
It’s certainly what the majority of the genre became with the advent of mobile gaming, as with so many other simple puzzle games. But the original Bejeweled and Puzzle Quest were both excellent and huge hits, and were complete games before the microtransaction garbage that came later.
It’s a nice genre for relaxing and turning off your brain, similar to a Tetris or a Bust-A-Move. I know there have to be titty and microtransaction filled variants of both of those, does it invalidate them as puzzle game genres?
I played peggle on wow flight paths for hundreds of hours. Sad and fantastic lol.
Yeah coomer games are similar to mobile games. Theyre puzzle games that are designed to be extremely easy to make players feel good. They are technically still puzzle games just bad ones.
There are tons of great adult games out there that aren’t “puzzle games”. You are being very ignorant here.
Nah I’m standing on business. Theyre shit. They are no better than raid shadow legends game play.
I remember seeing a large bejeweled cabinet in a service station back in 2009. Or around that age. What a beast.

When you got attached to the characters in Fetish Locator you should definitely not play Leap of Faith. It’s going to crush you emotionally.
Thanks for the warning. I’d started playing because I needed a distraction from some hard IRL stuff, so that’s good to know. It was nice that when I fired up Being a DIK from the same bundle, they straight out ask you at the beginning if you’re going through shit right now, and gently suggest the game may be rough for you if you are.
LoF does the same mid game right before it hits the hardest with even offering to skip the scene entirely. However all characters are really likable, have some really good development and it is an overall (bitter)sweet story with lots of happy endings
Adult games give emotional support these days. Not all, but many understand and respect the player to a degree not normally found in games. And because all the right wing puritans aren’t playing those games, no one is complaining about other hot button topics like gender, equality, etc.
Considering the dev’s previous game, Acting Lessons, that warning is worth taking seriously. That game has a fantastic story, but it has some rough shit go down. Although I will say that by the end of season 1 of Being a ΔΙΚ I don’t think there had been much “rough if you’re going through some shit” stuff. I haven’t played season 2 yet.
I was disappointed by Fetish Locator; I wasn’t into any of the included fetishes, so I rapidly got to the end, and missed all the content. Got an ending screen suggesting I should go back and try something, but like, no thanks! Still, at least it was free!
You do kind of have to buy into it. Most of the engagement of the story is locked behind the various options there, and it can really be surprisingly good beyond the adult content.
Maybe don’t explore anything that’s a full on ick, but I would second that, if there’s something you’re at least neutral on I’d recommend giving it another shot.
But then something awakens in you and you’re into food now, look what you’ve done
