If you’re an adult Pokemon fan, these days fan-mades or rom hacks are the way to go. Nintendo/The Pokemon Company/Game Freak are pretty damn risk averse with this property, so the really cool stuff comes from fans (at least until they get the cease and desist).

How did you like it, btw? I loved the idea as a kid, but was pissed as hell I kept getting Numemon and dying. Didn’t get back into it until Digimon World 3, which was very different gameplay-wise.

Fair - it’s more accurately an action RPG (or RPG + arena brawler?) - but mentioned with 3rd person shooting robots in mind.

Once OP started talking about Chibi Robo and MechAssault we’re straying away from shooters proper anyway (but this could be my own bias).
