Is there a community on Lemmy that can help finding a game I played years ago.
The year was 1984 or 1985, last year of High School. The computer was an Apple 2e The game was a Raiders rip off with a guy in a fedora looking for treasure. It was monochrome green. I remember you had to place dynamite and run to blow through walls to get deeper inside a pyramid. It was loaded on 5 1/4" floppy disks. I guess it would need an emulator to play now.

Describe the game
check my edit for description.
Don’t ask to ask, just ask.

Nice. I’m putting that one right next to

check my edit for description.
It was Duke Nukem Forever
No but I enjoyed that game, although the catch phrases got on my nerves pretty quick.
Duke Nukem Sometimes: The Prequel
There’s “Tip of my joystick” on .ml, but it’s not very active. However, you’re already here, may as well ask.
Aztec? https://classicreload.com/apple2-aztec.html
I’m wondering if there was an Aztec2 cause the name rings a bell. Thanks, I’m going to check who developed this but it looks abandoned.
Okay I’ve watched a couple of vids and it might be this.
In the same genre but must have come after this because it was much better quality.
Is it battletoads?
No but thanks
Faxanadu, or Castlevania II: Simon’s Quest.
Much earlier. check my edit for description.
Second Sight
Not> Second Sight but I will see if I can get it.
I didn’t see the expanded post. Was it Montezumas Revenge? I played it on Atari
No it wasn’t > Montezumas Revenge Someone suggested Aztec.
Lessee. Username’s a reference to Snow Crash, which is a cyberpunk book. Played the game “years ago”. The game must have a name not so connected to the content that OP would have already remembered the name before posting.
I’m going to guess Shadowrun for the SNES.
Good catch on the book but the game is from the 80’s

Are you sure it’s not a reference to the tv show Heroes (tm) (R) (CC) (CCP) (CCCP) (littleoldladywho), and thus he has an unhealthy obsession with savior-figures that transcend the physical boundaries set by the unbreakable rules off reality? The game must be Superman 64, known for its trendsetting skyfall imagery and fast gameplay.
I was playing on Sinclair spectrum and BBC b computers in the 80s but this kinda rings a vague bell. I’ll ask my brother and get back to you if he remembers anything
Thanks
Raptor: Call of the Shadows?
Could’ve been minecraft
I have never played Minecraft. I played 7 days to die so close enough?
Horace goes skiing?
I live in a snowy place so I never liked winter games. Maybe if they had one about shoveling out your vehicle.
Well I hit the right era, didn’t expect it to be that old! The game you describe does sound very familar, I’msure I’ve played it…now you’ve got my aging memory working away!
Its certainly a very common theme. Can’t lose with pyramid treasure hunts.
Xenon 2?
Megablast!
Not Megablast. I edited the question to describe the game.
No but > Xenon 2 kind of reminds me of Galaga.
I don’t know Gaaga, Xenon & Xenon 2, Megablast was my Atari ST era. I remember the soundtrack/music being very good for that time.
Galaga, it was kind of a fancy Space Invaders.
Trog
I have never even heard of that one > Trog
