Sounds about right for game companies these days.

Is there any explanation even a theory of why this was done?

Its certainly a very common theme. Can’t lose with pyramid treasure hunts.

Galaga, it was kind of a fancy Space Invaders.

Sometimes it better to just keep the memory.

Yes, someone else suggested that, I think it was. I just remember it being way better than it looks today. Cutting edge in the 80’s.

No it wasn’t > Montezumas Revenge Someone suggested Aztec.

Okay I’ve watched a couple of vids and it might be this.

I’m wondering if there was an Aztec2 cause the name rings a bell. Thanks, I’m going to check who developed this but it looks abandoned.

Temple of Apshai? No but thanks.

In the same genre but must have come after this because it was much better quality.

I live in a snowy place so I never liked winter games. Maybe if they had one about shoveling out your vehicle.

Not Megablast. I edited the question to describe the game.

No but > Xenon 2 kind of reminds me of Galaga.

I have never even heard of that one > Trog

I have never played Minecraft. I played 7 days to die so close enough?

Castlevania II: Simon’s Quest Not those games but it was an 80’s game. I edited my question for description.

Not> Second Sight but I will see if I can get it.

No but I enjoyed that game, although the catch phrases got on my nerves pretty quick.

Good catch on the book but the game is from the 80’s

Much earlier. check my edit for description.

Where to find help for a game name
Is there a community on Lemmy that can help finding a game I played years ago. The year was 1984 or 1985, last year of High School. The computer was an Apple 2e The game was a Raiders rip off with a guy in a fedora looking for treasure. It was monochrome green. I remember you had to place dynamite and run to blow through walls to get deeper inside a pyramid. It was loaded on 5 1/4" floppy disks. I guess it would need an emulator to play now.
fedilink

I do hate being in the never ending upgrade cycle but the 10 year old games are limited, at least the ones I like to play.
