For example, for me, I would *love* a new Populous game based from what was done in Populous 3. That, and a new SimCity based on SimCity 4!

Dark Cloudy, but it should be built around city building a bit more than combat
Not “revived” since it’s still going, but I wish the mega man series would modernize. It’s 2024, I get side scroller was megaman’s thing but how I would love a modern, ratchet and Clank style platformer/open world where you go to different parts of the city to fight the different robots. But Capcom and most Japanese game companies are insanely opposed to modernizing and of making their games look current. Graphics wise they’re always outdated
Dirty Bomb
Ultima
Definitely Ultima, but possibly branching off from 7.
The Darkness.
Jackie Estacado fought through hell to save his girlfriend only for her to get bad touched by an angel and fly away leaving him there to Rot.
We never got to see that story finished.
Cyberstadium Series: Basewars.
Sure, it was only 1 game, so maybe not a series, but as the name suggests, it was meant to be a series.
For every year Capcom doesn’t make MegaMan Legends 3, an executive needs to be launched out of a trebuchet right into a wall.
Far Cry. Both FC3 and FC4 were great, and then they never made another one after that.
Honestly 5 had a lot going for it. It removed radio tower puzzles. It way cleaned up on absurd collectaton mechanics of 4, which had gone way too overboard. The survialist bunkers were a neat mechanic to replace a lot of collectaton stuff. I actually enjoyed the side games like the fishing. The gunplay and the customization was iterated on and improved. The editor where you could make your own missions and post them online was really cool (I made a lot of super complicated stealth missions).
The vibe of the game was pretty good, and the villains were engaging enough. It’s really just the main plot that falls to pieces and only at the very end does it become impossible to ignore how dumb it is.
I think that in mechanical design, 5 is a straight improvement on 3 and 4.
I agree with all of this, but the ending made me so mad I stopped playing them.
I liked the ending of FC5, and think that it lead rather well into the subsequent New Dawn expansion pack.
On the other hand, while I also loved FC3 - I couldn’t get into FC4 at all…
I guess we can conclude that Far Cry is just a very strange series that seems to alienate its fans just about as often as it attracts them!
wdym there is FC5 and FC6
There hasn’t really been a good vehicular combat game in awhile, like Vigilante 8 or Twisted Metal
I also noticed there haven’t really been any good couch party games besides Mario party; think Crash Bash, Pokemon stadium, fusion frenzy, and the like.
Jak & Daxter, definitely. I want to know more about the whole Mar lore
Strange Adventures in Infinite Space
Burnout.
I’ll just take a remaster of takedown
I want a Revenge remake! 😁
sorry we can’t be friends anymore
🤣
I’d love a new Tomba game.
The first game plays so much better than the 2nd! Never finished the 2nd game, now that I think about it.
Another thing that I have a (possibly fake) memory from the 1st game is, near the start, with those carnivorous egg-looking-plants and farting peaches, I remember once managing to get one of those plants to go up right as the peach farted, which triggered a small event and turned the plant into a mini thing-item to collect. Maybe it was only in the demo and scrapped for the full game?
Just give me a new Deus Ex game please.
Yes please, one close to the original <3
Glad I wasn’t the first one to suggest it. It’d be so much better if they finish it off and provide the missing gap to the original game.
Cyberpunk scratched that itch for me to a surprising degree. It’s not a perfect match, but it felt closer to the original than the sequels did somehow.
Given how well that game sold, it’s even more baffling that we don’t seem to be getting another Deus Ex. Don’t they like money or something?
They do like money. That’s why they made two shitty prequels.
Watch Dogs. It’s without a doubt my favorite video game franchise of all time and it saddens me that there hasn’t been any sign of a new game being in development at all. I’d love if the game went back to its roots by following the first entries formula, but that’s just a minor preference and at this point I’d take anything.
I remember at one point I tried taking the original on PS3 to gamestop to trade in. They offered $0.10.
I was so insulted by the offer, I’ve never once gone back to trade anything else in. That was like 10 years ago.
The GME people are insane. GameStop is a trash store.
