While I am personally excited for a new Mario Kart after 10ish years, I am slightly skeptical of the quality of the gameplay, as it seems a little cartoony, a little bit like Super Mario Strikers, where the game is fun for like 2 weeks then no one plays it ever again. What do y’all think?
The price is too high. They are going to sell skins and characters. The game is going to be fluffed with open world sections instead of actual content. I probably won’t enjoy it.

It just sounds like you’re a broke little boy that can’t afford to play video games anymore. You could always save for a few months. Maybe find a better job that pays more? Be better professionally.
Looks pretty different from any game we’ve seen yet. I guess they made it that way since mk8 is already compatible with the new console, so it needs to be something other than “yet another Mario Kart” to not be overshadowed by 8.
Maybe I’ll pick it up in a couple years, but there’s still more than enough games I haven’t played on the Switch 1 for the steep price of the Switch 2 to be justified for me personally.
Nintendo reminds me of Disney more and more, pulling out the same old tired franchises for increasingly cynical cash grabs that prey on people’s nostalgia.
“for all ages” and “for kids” are two different things. They don’t make kids games except for some of the yoshi platformers and even those are still playable
I think it looked great. More variety, bigger races, a world to play around in, etc those are all winning ideas from where I’m sitting. Adding something like wall jumps fits in the Mario universe and could add some interesting skips on courses and things. I was very excited after that trailer.
Of course now that pricing has been revealed, all of that excitement has been sucked out of the room for me. I’ve got a Steam Deck in the mail right now and that’s probably going to be it for me this next gen. Metroid 4 for the OG Switch might be my last Nintendo purchase
I think it’s cool. Just another Mario kart game. Updated graphics and world exploring is neat. I would be loving this game if I was 10. In my thirties? Nah. $$$
i’m pretty excited. i was disappointed by 8 and disapointed even more when we got it again on Switch instead of a new installment, with . one of the main things that bugged me was the kart customization that felt more like picking nerfs than buffs. having that eliminated alone makes the game 10x more appealing, and then this new rally mode seals the deal for me
…aside from the price like everyone else is saying. i’ll gladly get it used, but if we all wait for it to go on sale used, there won’t be any used copies to buy used! the comments in the gameplay streams nintendo did today where flooded with demands to drop the prices so i think everyone is on the same page. it’ll be interesting to see in the coming months if nintendo budges
As a bundled launch title I expect most launch window sales will be digital. There won’t be 2nd hand game cards on the market in any volume until after they drop the bundle.

Everything I want was announced for “sometime in 2025”, not launch day. It looks good though.
Seemed fun but I noped out of everything the moment, I heard the prices.
Steam Deck OLED + Emulations is the way to go.
