except, its not. they control the keys to the kingdom and will until they change some fundamental parts of their architecture.

heres a great indepth, technical read on why bluesky controls even your ‘independent’ ‘instance’

https://dustycloud.org/blog/how-decentralized-is-bluesky/

no i should have specified. i meant the very idea and instantiation of ‘copyright’ itself

https://www.copyright.gov/title17/

typical. a law meant to help the little guy completely abused and perverted by corporations.

gross

no mention of the solid push into fascism by the propaganda machine fox news?! wtf

cant wait for the next post, ‘water is wet’

so much insight

sonys ‘replacement culture’ goes way back. remember vaio? shittiest ‘high end’ machines ever . terrible, almost non-existent support.

in my experience it was expensive crapware purchased exclusively by rich people who didnt want to jump into the apple ecosystem.

i use an old cellphone with the radios disabled. throw a big old microsd card in and youre good to go.

especially after building an entire pc for the game. whats 45$?

thanks! ill try 4 if 6 seems annoying with those characteristics

civ6! ive never played civilization before, but my kid says its great and it was on sale for 3$

lack of local accounting means its no longer your operating system, youre now using a perpetually required service from microsoft.

the walled garden is putting the last bricks in place. hope all you windows fans are …happy… asking apple microsoft for permission to use your own hardware.

sometimes investment firms will buy an entire portfolio of businesses… the titles that arent really profitable are then ‘set it, and forget it’. the popeil two-step. kinda smells like that here.

pure conjecture

whew, thanks roku! for a awhile there i thought i might use one of your products. no longer a thought.

ive watched the development of fiber my whole career, and they have always promised wavelength advances that could be achieved over existing fiber mediums. this is a perfect example of that promise coming to fruition. woohoo! fibertothedesktop

the entire vr space is a solution waiting for a problem. gaming seems the only practical application and it just cant turn out anything to trigger mass adoption.

sure, but if your write speed is 1gb/day in your new nanoscale thing, its not going to work at scale.

thats why i was looking for any write speed on this new tech, and i havent found it yet.

its the write speeds that always fail… although i recall one of these where the multiple reading lasers were too expensive and they abandoned the method

Wen said the team will continue to improve the speed and reduce the energy needed to write and read data from the disk.

literally the last paragraph, no read/write speeds… ive seen a lot of these nanoscale data-density ‘breakthroughs’ but the read/write costs are so high/slow it never comes to market. the optical disk format gives me a little hope

pure corporate greed.

i think its the stock market. it creates this false reality where things need to keep climbing.

if you have a company where everyone gets paid, and the customer is very satisfied and you have no profit you are somehow a complete failure. because we all just cant be.

the stock market is humanities downfall… human greed distilled, authorized and removed from all responsibility.

as an old non-modding white guy, this kinda sucks. i love stardew but im tied to this easy to use nintendo.switch

i am laazy, and its too bad this stuff isnt bundled as an official expansion. please take my money.

you people know fans would pay triple, right? you gave us the first one for practically free. just gimme a little taste
