Vanquish is so idiot and the story is atrocious but damn the shooting is good.

Of course, I agree that what matters is the quality of the games, but corporate policy will inevitably affect the quality of the games at some point.

They ruined their reputation for a lifetime in a single year, haven’t they?

Sony recently stated that it’s halfway through its life cycle, if I am not mistaken. ‘PS5 no games’ is just a meme at this point.

Steam Machine is huge for indie development
One thing I see as underestimated is that having a major standard device is huge for indie development and could greatly benefit the most flourishing artistic landscape. One of the problems today is that the indie and AAA markets are increasingly distant, publishing a game on the PS5 or XSX digital store is prohibitive for a small indie team, but if Steam Machine is successful, we can expect more easy access to indie games by (ex)console gamers, and later a reduction in publishing costs on consoles. I believe Steam Deck has already started this process, but with a device that will compete with the 9th generation of home consoles the indie game diffusion could accelerate.

They are both great (MK64 and CTR)! Sonic Racing Transformed is a great evolution.

The problem is the immature critique and not the quantity.

I have both PS3 and PS4 and they are equally great devices: great and responsive UI, great titles. PS4 still have 90% of games playable offline without patches or accounts. PS5 looks very bad like latest gen console + XB1 (but at least XB1 have games, and backward compatibility.

“Game addiction” is just an ignorant concept, the thing is called ludopathy, and is present in every game with gambling mechanics, mainly online games (mobas, esports, etc).

All the support to destroy zionists but that’s not a great reason to boycott, many brands are everywhere due to how capitalism works.

Limbo is a great game, Inside is a fucking masterpiece.

Used market is great, and I prefer true console hardware anyway when emulators are not optimized.

I understand you, following the hardware market has nothing to do with playing properly, I play on all the platforms I can get my hands on and I prefer systems with a lower setup, so consoles.

How it’s the emulation? Can you emulate all the games?

If you already have a decent PC for games a Switch allow you to play more games.

You’re guessing right, that was the critique, a statement can be a way to critique.

So I cannot critique the idea because some fan would like this? I don’t see your point here, I’m interested in videogame as art, not to commercial success.

We also already know what fans bring to creator, look at Netflix series…people don’t really know what they want.

Pixel art will always be great but…do you really need another fucking Pokémon game?

As a “game purist” I’ve a 1080p desktop setup for PC and retro, I’m planning to build a full 4k space in the future for this/next gen; 2k is a particular spot, more work oriented, but it can be used to play better well-optimized PC games that don’t need a 4k gamepad experience (I think it hardly depends on the screen size and how it’s placed). I would also really like to buy a real CRT in the future!

That’s another reason consoles still make sense for many gamers.

PS. From a PC player

Yeah if you care about cinema you definely want a better resolution and considering to buy your UHD versions whenever available, but I could say the same for some modern videogames.

Well, 4k is a great technology for gaming and cinema, highly recommended if you have the space.

How Xbox backward-compatibility works?
My research and AI's responses seem inconsistent or unsatisfactory, so I prefer to ask these questions to Xbox players, thanks to anyone who takes the time to respond! 1. Are the games actually emulated or are they just downloaded digitally using the disc as a key? 2. Does the compatibility transform games significantly or is it a remaster-like optimization? 3. Is it possible to use this feature offline therefore not caring about any Microsoft server support cessation? 4. Are there significant differences in how backward-compatibility works on Xbox One versus Xbox Series X? 5. What are some other aspects of this backwards compatibility feature that are worth mentioning?

Where this interface come from?
I love the ViMusic/RiMusic UI, it's something different that works also better than standard material designs.
