World of Warcraft workers have voted to unionize the popular video-game franchise, expanding organized labor’s new foothold at Microsoft Corp. by around 500 employees.

Only a single game’s team and not even all of Blizzard? American unions are weird.

Dragonflight has been an amazing breath of fresh air with how it’s been respecting players time compared to SL and BfA.

I didn’t mind BfA too much. Shadowlands felt like a drag the entire time though. Definitely my least favorite expansion.

More need to do this. Laying off the studio that made hi fi rush should have been the first sign it was needed.

Can’t unionize if you’re not an important workforce.

Blizzard hasn’t made a good game since Warcraft 3 came out in 2002.

Agreed. Once they realized how much money they could make by designing MMOs to be addictive, and handed the reins to MBAs, they went down the crapper.

In truth I don’t think many came after Warcraft 3, but The Frozen Throne expansion would come the following year and WC3 would maintain a pretty impressive player base over the next 10 years.

Sins of a Solar Empire released in 2008, but by that time the RTS genre had fizzled out and most entries would fit more into 4X or Grand Strategy.

Starcraft 2 was 2010, with the final expansion in 2015.

There’s several attempts to have a more traditional RTS coming soon/out. Stormgate and Beyond All Reason are the big two.
