While I admire their commitment to improve the game, I spent about six hours with the Rev-8 last night. It gets stuck on things, even little tiny things far too often. Using it in the forest biomes, for example, feels like a hastle and made me want to just walk the entire time I was in that biome. You can definitely tell the game wasn’t built with vehicles in mind. I do enjoy the game in small doses, though. Just not sure how I feel about this. Other than that, it does feel nice, it handles well (surprisingly) and when the game allows it, specifically in the more open areas, it is fun to drive.
I’m sorry but the cast alone is proof they didn’t give a fuck about the fans. It’s also dumb as fuck how they’re “telling their own story” and aren’t ballsy enough to go the route fallout did (telling a good story within established canon).
I’m not going to see a movie about borderlands if the established, existing core character cast isn’t literally from the game actors. Big celebs can be cool if they’re their own unique characters, but core, pre-existing characters should be played from the games.
Should clarify: if you’re going to use the main characters in the series, they should be using the actual actors. If you want to make some new characters, then that’s fine. If these guys were brand new vault hunters, I’d be far more forgiving.
I mean…it is, literally, factually better than pokemon is at its own formula. Not really a disrespectful take, and far from a strawman. And you’re kidding yourself if you think being inspired by something is the same thing as theft. Fun fact: pokemon lifted off of dragon quest. The fact that it is so successful is literally because it does pokemon better, but sure, “flippant accusations” lol. Congrats, you are the exact type of fanboy I’m talking about
Well, again, a separate easy mode wouldn’t affect you at all. Not everyone is going to be like you. You and I find it rewarding to overcome the difficulties the game presents, and for people who want an easy mode to explore and have a chill time with, it’d be just as rewarding for them to focus on what they want to focus on. I really don’t see the point of getting all bent out of shape over it. Even papa Miyazaki said he is OK with people wanting to use mods to make the game easier or to do silly things (as long as it’s offline so it doesn’t ruin it for others), as long as they’re having fun, that’s all that matters. I would be fine with an easy mode. Everyone has different definitions of fun, after all, and tbh, I do see the obvious appeal of an easy mode. It would expand the player base, for one. It’d open it up for casual less skilled players, which I see as a net win. The gatekeeping mentality of this community has to go.
