As a lore fanatic of d1 and d2, plus the books all around those, seeing blizzard shove an extra class into a classic masterpiece and probably fuck all that up bothers me tremendously.
However, I can’t believe I’m saying… I’m actually happy they kept to their super money hungry ways this time and kept it a paid expansion. I can rest easy knowing I can still play the classic without this tainting it for me.
I’m still annoyed that they deleted classic D2 from my battle.net account. I used to be able to download that and get several classic games installed from registering CD keys back in the day. Now it’s just a prompt to buy remastered :(
Not in multiplayer, at least. LAN was deliberately patched out, and we know from Alanah Pearce’s channel that this game in particular could have LAN back extremely easily if they wanted it.

D2 resurrected is the remaster. Infernal edition is the warlock DLC. The remaster was released some years ago and as much as I hate blizzard it’s decent-ish. It doesn’t support mods ofc so I has no use for it but it’s what it is. Infernal edition is trash.
