I vote for Elite Dangerous…

It’s 10,000 miles wide and an inch deep, but that’s still a lot of water.

No, you’re right. I’m offended that somebody would choose POE2 over Balatro and preface it with a “Naah” as if Balatro wasn’t deserving, when it is essentially a modern day solitaire.

You shouldn’t flaunt your lack of reading comprehension like this. It makes you look silly.

Well I’m sorry if I offended your delicate sensibilities. My reaction was because not only is POE2 kind of crap for what it could be, but Balatro is fantastic. So for them to dismiss Balatro and then suggest such a mid game deserved some backlash. Either way, thanks for your input. I’ll try to care more about proportionate response from this moment forward.

Hey don’t get me wrong, PoE is a fantastic game. PoE2 just left me wanting for a hell of a lot more after they’ve had over a decade of experience making that game already.

The “Naah” was sassy, what I’m not allowed to also have some sass?

Edit: Also have you not played Balatro? Absolutely deserving of the title.

It’s really not that great, DEFINITELY not game of the year material. What would even make you say that? Because it’s YOUR game of the year?

Other people have different standards other than “Slightly better graphics and slightly different combat” from a game that’s been out for what, over a decade?

I have it! I can’t get out of ACT 1 without wanting to reroll a new character. I’ve done this at least 5 times so far… haha

Sundry: Of various kinds; several.

Thanks for the recommendation! I play a lot of different styles of games. Roguelikes, factory building, survival, FPS, RPG, Arcade, RTS, ect and sundry.

I do appreciate your suggestions, and I will give them a look. Happy holidays!

Edit: If I may give a “retro” gaming suggestion of my own. Anybody who likes arcade style games should go immediately buy “Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved”. As it is my 100/10 arcade style game recommendation. It’s pure game, no story, no bullshit. 3 lives, 3 bombs, and a dream.

Ended up picking up 6 titles this sale:

Peglin

Cobalt Core

Cyberpunk

Cult of the Lamb

Animal Well

Rabit & Steel

So far I’ve only played the first 3, loving Peglin and Cobalt Core, not far enough into Cyberpunk to make an assessment.

Okay well part of the problem is that I’ve already bought most of the games that seem interesting. Already 100% done with Satisfactory, great game!

Burnt out on total war games, not sold on Stalker 2 yet.

I laughed so hard the first time I saw this.

Neverhood was a fantastic experience. If you like puzzlers.

Thanks! Bought and played a lot of UFO50 already, I liked it. Bought and loved Balatro as well! I’ll have to look into the others. Thanks again!

Looking through the sale trying to find ANY game that holds an interest for me… Any suggestions? Seems like a lot of trash lately.

Servers are dead.

Played for 10 minutes 1v1 with somebody and then another person showed up and it stopped being fun.

I can’t believe how much new stuff is in Stardew Valley since I last played. I thought the game was complete already

Anything but not play those certain games?

Just don’t use “Epic” man.

This happens to me when I don’t have somebody to share my progress in a game with. It’s definitely some sort of failure to achieve dopamine or something.

Having a second person to talk to about the game and your progression may help you to overcome this hurdle.

Alternatively, try some indie stuff? AAA+ games are made by soulless companies who don’t actually care about your joy. Have you ever played Stardew Valley? Made by ONE dude with love. Give that a shot.

I wish James Cameron had picked any other name for this movie series. EVERY time I get excited thinking it’s Avatar: Air Bender/Korra related and EVERY time I’m disappointed to find 7ft tall blue people.

What kind of mods are you talking about exactly? I haven’t gotten to the final stage of any of the decks yet so I haven’t explored those options.

I mean of course they are. Giant corporations treat employees like a disposable commodity. Enjoy your first and last shot at the big time boys!

Then, hopefully, move on to making actually good indie titles with your own or at least a smaller studio.

EA, Ubisoft, Blizzard, they don’t care about making good games. They care about separating gamers from their money, as efficiently as possible.

He probably signed a contract to say it was amazing if they let him play it.

I bought it (again) to have it in my pocket. (The steam deck doesn’t quite fit). Absolutely worth it 100%.

4 hours of cutscenes is not my idea of playing a video game. If I wanted to watch a movie then I’d go to the movies.

It’s okay, you guys are allowed to be objectively incorrect.

Hold on to your butts, there’s a wave of dipshits on their way to say “BuT a CoNsOlE iS sPeCiFiCalLy MaDe To PlAy ThEsE gAmEs!1!1!”
