This should be illegal. They own Crunchyroll and bought Funimation, both massive distributers of anime outside of Japan.
Now they want Kadokawa, the source that is inside Japan.
Also, after their Concord blunder I didn’t know they could even afford to buy Kadokawa.
I think you underestimates the size of Sony. A few hundred million is not that much for a company worth many billion.
“The difference between a million and a billion is roughly a billion.”
Letting Sony go through with any additional aquisitions will further enshitify the gaming market
Yeah, that’s what everyone knows Sony for. Especially nowadays.
I’m old. That’s what I know them for.
FTFY
Given their tight hold on demon souls and blood Bourne I’m not completely shocked but far from happy.
If this deal doesn’t fall through a fairly large swath of culture is just going to suffer, not just fromsoft.
This is what happens when an American monopoly giant tries to “spend sony out of the business”. Acquisition wars are bad for consumer. Hell, anything MS does is bad for the consumer. Now we have sony playing defence to make sure they don’t get excluded from yet another franchise via dumping.
And yes, what MS is doing with GP is dumping.
