A guy on the internet who does things sometimes
That doesn’t even take into account that modern games also have larger budgets compared to back then.
It also doesn’t take into account how much more they make even at the lower price points
If game companies want more money for their games they can start by cutting the worthless CEOs, not raising prices
Also: Arthmoor is famously a massive dickwad in the community, and a few years back there was a converted effort to replace his mods with better-made mods under the cathedral theory of modding (that were all working together to build a cathedral, and thus taking your ball and going home because x/y/z doesn’t happen)
Also, Arthmoor is a cunt and people generally dislike him for how IP-protective he is over his mods, including these garbage patches
I didn’t even read the article I’m just familiar with this exact bullshit, Nexus users made a big push like 3 years ago of dumping his ass, basically anything his mods do are done better elsewhere by people who support Cathedral style modding
that’s why what’s good enough for you isn’t good enough for me?
No, we established that with the following comment I made: you being nothing more than an angry little incel bitch. Which is ok, you just wanna rage at whatever other people like, go for it. Well all point and laugh at you for being pathetic, we all win
you are literally making up your own words then pretending I said them and calling me stupid for it.
You refused to give your reasoning, so I provided one. It’s obvious you haven’t played it, so I went with graphics
Shall I change it to “im pathetically angry at everything waaaaaaa” instead, as better befits you?
I mean, he brought the marker back to the planet, which should be what the marker wanted, so why were they still attacking him?
The marker wanted to stay off of Aegis VII, actually. Their entire goal (as we learn in 3) is to spread the Necro infection and eventually make a Brother Moon. It’s likely the marker kept attacking Isaac in an attempt to stop him from putting it back on the planet that was about to fall apart. Isaac’s mental infection isn’t hardcore until DS2, either, so he’s not being manipulated very hard yet
Dead Space gets fucking complicated if you read the extended lore in all the games holy shit I sound insane
Wait, is mercer the guy developing the invincible necromorphs, or is he the one helping you bring the marker?
Mercer is the guy making the invincible Necro. In the remake he kills himself willingly, in the original he’s “betrayed” by the marker. The guy helping you is June, poor bastard
Dr Mercer was advantageous to the Marker to have alive and doing his work, so he isn’t killed until his usefulness has run its course
Canonically: the markers try to influence people to do what will assist in Unification. Isaac vehemently doesn’t believe in Unitology so the marker throws enemies at him to try to stop him / manipulate him into doing what it wants (in DS2 & 3). Other people in the series are believers, so they don’t need to be killed off if they’re more useful alive for the time being
Survivors lasting by staying behind locked doors isn’t too unbelievable, either, given the fall of the Ishimura took a while (1 month from marker discovery to it getting on board the ship), and you arrive not that long after it falls (less than a week). It’s been at most a week since she went dark, I think, which is a believable timeframe to survive given the comms going black is at least a day before the big fall of the ship
Oh hey my memory was pretty close: Check the year 2508 section
Other games absolutely pull that shit too much, but DS did a pretty good job with background story details to explain why some people aren’t dead
Fuck them for what they did with GTA VI, greedy assholes
Did you mean V? And by that I mean: do you mean Online?
V is still a great single player experience for a reasonable price. Online is considered separate and always was, and I can completely agree with what they did to that. I can also agree that not giving us dlc for V in favor of Online updates was crap, too. But R* still gave us a game worth the money that’s still playable right now
If there’s been some huge update with VI that I missed then, well, shit. I think I saw the price went up $10 on some retailers site, but idk if I trust that kind of shit
My trans friends purchased the game, too. One of them specifically because of the well-done trans character, they said “I want to support whoever wrote that character into the game”
Almost like projects with 100s of people working on them are more complicated than “one person gets a tiny share of each purchase so it’s completely bad”
Also Covid? Seriously? If anything Covid should‘ve accelerated development on VR games
Your claim was that the game was a failure, my point with COVID was that you would have been extra wrong about that had there not been a pandemic limiting how many headsets they could actually sell, which was the point of the game. In the world that we got they sold out and had Back-orders for a year, had there not been a global pandemic those Back-orders would have been sales, and likely many who couldn’t buy one would have been able to as well
The rest of your comment shows you have 0 idea how Valve works internally. The whole studio doesn’t just work on one project, there are smaller teams that pick and choose what they do. This is why Valve tends to release shit a couple years apart that are wildly different (Alyx and Artefact), but 5-8 years between similar products (Portal 2 and Alyx). It being 5 years or more since their last major VR release is to be expected from them, not a sign of failing at anything
5 years old now and what has Valve released for VR since?
You know Valve has released a whopping 3 things total in that timespan (didn’t include deadlock cuz I’m not sure that’s officially released yet), right? A free steam deck teaser, the card game they’ve been working on for a while, and the CSGO 2 update
Valve works slow, my guy
A single game isn‘t gonna make a hardware
Good thing there are a shit ton of other games, then
It was a failure in the end of the day
No it wasn’t, you high? They sold out of Indexes around the games launch. Would have sold more if not for COVID, too
When I tried BO6s MP for a while after launch (main zombies usually but the MP historically was worth some time investment) and while it absolutely felt the worst in terms of EOMM on a personal level I noticed the game was almost always close for whatever that game mode counted, so I started paying attention
Very VERY quickly noticed what was happening: EOMM pulling it’s bullshit so people on whatever team was getting stomped would dip (no notif people leave and who looks at the scoreboard that regularly unless you notice something like I did) and then after maybe 25% of the match of one side being seriously down suddenly they’d get filled with a team either way over-skilled or blatantly cheating, managing to pull the score back in time to make it look "close’ even though it was a stomp one direction for 25-50% of the match followed by a stomp the other fucking direction
I actually tried this with BL2 last week and got told “no, you’ve owned it for almost 10 years”
I find it hard to disagree with that notion, but also have a pirated copy with my saves backed up ready to fucking go
