I play the deus ex games over and over and cyberpunk surpases them IMO.

DE does less with more, but 77 offers better combat, exploration, and better relationships. The stuff with megan reed in the first was ineffective, but the characters you meet in 77 jackie, panam, judy hit much more. you not only explore more characters, but yourself more than jenson ever does.

if you watch this small clip you’ll notice how deus ex rarely allows you to enter/exit important buildings via glass windows. in 77, while your cannot enter your apartments that way you can for many gig locations, but you might need the augs, or tech expertise to open a sliding window.

adding mods on PC that add hardcore, realistic hunger and sleep, vr and this clears the modern deus ex games. I do want Adam’s story resolved though

I’d argue each CDPR game improves on the one before including cyberpunk, but since it was a new franchise and perspective it was like creating witcher 1 all over again except… The combat offered more choice that the witcher games, better 3d level design, pretty solid endings (better than deus ex, and mass effect).

if you’re on pc. get the friendly ui mod and try to hide the mini map and use 3d maps marker instead. immersion is so much better

this is my favorite gen of gaming ps2, xbox, gamecube.

The biggest graphical leap, releasing a larger quantity of diverse games, a faster release cadence, and very little of the bad that came in subsequent gens like horse armor.

honestly it’s better than america being laid off and hoping you find a new job before benefits expire

i just updated. https://www.startallback.com/ fixed most of my issues along with https://www.oo-software.com/en/shutup10

shame we have to do it, but even with Linux I have to do a bunch of stuff to make it more usable though at least it wont spy on you by default

my theory is that this will harden the next generation of nintendo emulator devs to be more anonymous and uncontactable.

i also suspect that nintendo has only delayed switch 2 emulation which is probably really close to switch 1 and can be trivially emulated relatively speaking.

i do think they’re going to partner with denuvo though which with make piracy harder, but i think the switch will also be cracked.

Physical releases wouldn’t make a difference on console, not being on steam and gog is a missed opportunity

i thought 2 was much more mechanically rich but this is a dissonance issue with the fun-loving crew that can kill.

luckily you can play the game using non-lethal methods and stealth so it works, but ubisoft wont commit fully.

the combat of the remake is better than the OG one. much higher skill ceiling and the music is better too

I would seriously fund a kickstarter of former eidos employees to make a spiritual successor

and now it’s bundled in the most popular desktop os. so you have options

i’ve only had one major bug where my game appears to be frozen but UI updates. pausing works too. hard to reproduce

I’d argue it would be smarter to upgrade CE to meet modern standards than creating a branch of id’s software while porting all of existing Bethesda tools.

we don’t have access to the source so we can’t really say things are bolted on. it’s also possible that code is removed as it’s made obsolete.

I don’t think you would have to create an entirely new engine to support elite dangerous type of warping, or elevators even now they could make the illusion better

nms doesn’t have any deep quest lines like the dark brotherhood

we’ve never seen a source game at the scale of oblivion and have object permanence so you can’t really compare the two.

the side quest lines are giving me a few interesting options. try the corpo one

a sidegrade compared to recent output, but a regression from their classics

BC2 is a great game but I think it’s funny you say the game got more arcade

They said the same thing about bad company simplifying battlefield to play on consoles.

but I do think they should have leaned more on destruction, environments and strategy

sponsor block skipped ⅔ of the video and thought it was a bug

the backend for lemmy would have to get a lot more reliable, but i get you

If i remember, what killed windows phone was the lack of 3rd party apps which is especially ironic since they now own the entire developer experience. They have vscode, github, azure, they could have made windows mobile a compile target and get more apps if they played the long game.

Apple is dipping their toes into XR, I wonder if microsoft will follow them later for another chance of the mobile market

With the rise of AI, Microsoft probably regrets killing Windows Phone
Adding OpenAI to their cloud products and windows 11 highlights a missed opportunity to have AI vertically integrated in their mobile products.
