Is there a good summary thread? I wonder how exactly this user lost their job as a result of this.

Edit: found this.

This part was particularly interesting…

Shortly after that the original Challenger post a video with his face and his voice clarifying all the rules talking about his love for the community, and the game, how he plans on donating the money regardless if they complete the mission or even attempt it…The only stipulation is they get to choose to charity if they win.

It certainly feels like the beginning of that franchise.

All the small business owners I knew supported Trump and Republicans. Similar to broke southern state people. Supporting a group of people that do not have their best interest in mind.

Consolidation is not good. I think the massive tax cut to corporations in 2017 is a big part to blame.

When corporate taxes are higher, they give their profits to their employees as a tax write off. When it’s lower, they pay the tax and use the cash to build up value for the shareholders. This includes corporate consolidation.

Remember when everybody was talking about corporations storing profits in offshore accounts waiting for tax rates to go down? Well Trump gave them that and they have brought that money back and used it to buy up their competition.

Honestly, small business owners should be at the forefront of complaining about this. The entire tax change made it harder for small businesses to compete with large businesses.

Is there a benefit to being online only with no pausing? Like does this enable any gameplay features?

Strike! They are about to make $10 billion off a single game. That money needs to go to the talent.

Lesson here is when you’re organizing, you have to be careful as fuck that you are not breaking any rules. They are tracking your every move.

So, how does this work? Were people actually developing a game that will never be seen? Or did they likely stop working on this years ago and just forgot to tell the world?

Mobile game subscriptions (like apple) is good. Every once in a while I’ll find a great game with no ads. Just dlc. I usually try to support them. I’ve been playing unnamed space idle for months, and it’s a great example of a game of a developer that respects its players.

This reminds me of the documentary “This film is not yet rated”. The point was that the MPAA gives way more leniency to big budget studios when giving ratings. The net effect of this is it kills the low budget films before they can be released.

I can definitely respect a company making games cause they’re having fun with making them and not making them out of desire to please investors.

This trailer definitely looked more halo then.

Some serious halo vibes. Are all the prime games like that?

I had to delete this game from my phone cause I couldn’t stop playing it…

I didn’t read the article either. What’s it about?

The iPhone was a novel concept as a whole. I think that’s undeniable. There was nothing like it at the time.

edit: found the iPhone haters and their revisionist history. The iPhone changed everything. When it was announced, nothing like it existed. Before the iPhone, google was working on a blackberry clone, for instance.

What was up with Messi and Araújo? Messi seemed pretty heated at half.

They probably have a lot of old LCD screens they need to get rid of.

Honestly, I saw that and was grateful that I won’t have the urge to buy it.

I hate how PS5 has all these incredible exclusives and yet Microsoft is being sued to prevent them from buying Activision. Of the 2 companies, Sony is the anti competitive one.
