Cheating has gotten pretty bad on this game, it really hurts the experience. Do I like giving someone this much access to my hardware; no. But i love the shit out of this game and i’ll take that risk to keep the small dick cheaters out of my lobbies.

Damn, I thought I had a lot. Just checked and its only 500, with about 60 sitting in the “backlog”

If downvotes aren’t gatekeeping, then neither is saying Dark Souls is perfect the way it is and doesn’t need to be changed. Ultimately, I think we’re all picking a side on this one, and dont want to hear what the other has to say. Voting me down is your way of saying “I don’t want to see this kind of thing.” It can’t be hand-waved away as simple disagreement. There is an echo chamber at work here, it is somewhat nasty and honestly disheartening. Like when I make a joke about Miyazaki not wanting this (it is a joke after all) and everyone piles on the dislike; that’s the community trying to send me a message. And yes, I know that calling out downvoters makes them pile on more; I am proud to spit in ya’lls face. The discourse around difficulty is toxic on both sides and I hate it. Can’t even make a joke without bringing out the Defenders of the Casual or whatever. Vote me down some more, its exactly what I expect.

Sometimes difficulty is inextricable from the art, and Dark Souls is a good example of that. When people say they want it easier they are missing the message. You SHOULD have to struggle to get what you want, you SHOULD have to pay attention to the game you’re playing instead of mindlessly hacking your way through only to forget bout it days later. If a game punishes impatience and hubris, you will be more immersed in an oppressive world, you will feel like a small part of a larger tragedy that transcends your typical hero fantasy. These are the things that make the game special, and Miyazaki and his team knew what they were doing. You are spitting on their vision and their talent when you say it should be different. Lies of P… I haven’t played it, and the devs can do whatever they feel is right to make the game they want to make.

But you know, Starry Night is fine and all but its too dark and depressing. They should put some more yellow in there, really make it more accessible to the masses.

Miyazaki wept. Edit: lol people love to complain about gatekeepers and then they gatekeep comment sections about difficulty. Its ok guys, youre safe. The video games cant hurt you.

I go to bed at 9 and wake up at 6 and im still fucking tired.

Lol 4080 needed to get 60fps 4k… the ps5 has like a 1/4 of that power. Whats going on here guys?

I go through phases like this, and its best to try other hobbies for awhile. When you feel that drive to play again, you will know.

Heard a few gems in STALKER 2 “Better a lousy peace than an awesome gunfight”

How do you deal with the slowdown? It ruins late game for me

Its boring in long stretches. The story has decent hooks but the characters are a bit too cartoony and flat. Kind of a forgetable experience.

Its a big ask for a janky experience, but 7 days has, as you said, 1,000s of hours of content. Its not perfect but it is rare, and thats worth something IMO.

I mean isnt steam a third party too? I agree that having to use two third -party applications to play a game is too much. Just try to remember Steam used to be hated too until they became indispensable.

Final Fantasy doesnt need to cost $100+ million to make; especially when your only big idea is just to make it look expensive. Execs like to blame their own hubris on market changes but like… treat your workers better and give them creative freedom and they could do great things. Instead its all on the backs of money-grubbing trend-chasers who get to keep their jobs when their inevitable failures lead to mass layoffs.

Ya’ll spent 50 mil on marketing? I barely even noticed ffxvi came out. How much did Dunkey spend on marketing Animal Well and that shit was inescapable for weeks.

Prey was the true successor to Deus Ex and system shock. Its a miracle of technical design with one interconnected world that the gamers always say they want. Fun powers, a trippy story that demands to be seen through.

Sure but my buddy cracking jokes about work is just as immersion-breaking. Multiplayer is fun, but thats not the point i was making.

Multiplayer is antithetical to immersion for me. Im not an RP guy and some wacko yelling slurs over the mic isnt going to help me forget im playing a video game

Yeah, my buddies and I played a buttload of Conker multiplayer.

As long as I gotta launch bitchass uplay (yeah I know its not called that anymore) I wouldnt buy this mediocre shit for free.

Peak player count was less than 800 players on steam… Flop is an understatement.

Those 100 workers EA laid off dont deserve to be thrown in the trash; why dont the execs take a nice paycut instead?

Yeah, Starfield has no legs. I got bored with it pretty quick; for me that BGS spark is gone.

Lol, this guy. If you got 60 bucks to throw away because of an internet comment I cant really help you.

So? I dont like your arguments. I will refute them. It is not for you to decide the tenor of discussion on this topic.

Transphobia will be discussed. Shouldnt matter to you. Maybe find something to occupy your time better.

Nah thats not what im saying. But the millions raked in by harry potter enterprises goes in to Rowlings pockets. Also, i dont weep for the devs, they were paid already…

Financially supporting a crusade against a minority group (trans folks) is one of my pet peeves

Had this epiphany with the new Ass Creed. It launched on steam, but after buying it still has a second front end Ubisoft launcher. Thats just straught up lying to me about what im purchasing. I dont want Ubi Spyware. Period.
