Slightly different, but I stopped playing Rocket League not long after they abandoned all the cool weird arenas because it got boring playing exactly the same map with a different skin.

They standardised the arenas after listening to what the pro players wanted.

Frankly, I’d be laughing my arse off at how bad Manchester is at football, but Newcastle aren’t exactly setting the world alight either 🥲

Used to get this from Rocket League back in the day. My eyes would practically glaze over at times with just how automatic my movements would be.

I hope it’s mostly an evolution maybe with some extra buttons on the back like the steam deck.

On a personal level, I always thought controllers with 6 face buttons instead of 4 needed to be more of a thing. I know the original Xbox tried with its black and white buttons, but I was thinking more a traditional A, B, C, X, Y, Z setup like the SEGA Saturn

I sometimes use VR. I have a Quest 2. I just don’t really care for any of it outside of linking it up to my PC and playing custom tracks on Beat Saber or getting my wheel out for racing games.

One of the scariest experiences was getting Wreckfest (not sure if it supports VR now but it didn’t when I used it), stretching the 2D screen around me, jacking up the POV and having a heart attack when getting side swiped by a bus. That’s probably the most fun I’ve had with a VR Headset 😂

I’ve also played Civ V on VR just for shits and giggles because why not.

This is exactly what I was thinking. You wouldn’t need every new iteration. They’d be smart to do it in such a way that lets you upgrade it like you would do a regular PC as opposed to people throwing their old phones out just to get one that’s marginally better 2 years later.

I love a good charge back on a credit card.

Thankfully I haven’t had to do it often, but it’s nice to know I can ❤️

I had one of these! Qwerty keyboard on a phone is a thing I sorely miss.

With how wearily often this seems to happen nowadays, I feel like if I was working somewhere like this I’d be looking at new work immediately as soon as I knew it was getting taken over.

Ideally, there should be some kind of way to prevent this happening in the first place.

But it’s easy for me to say this kind of thing from my pedestal. The only opinions that matter are from those who are involved. There’s nothing more depressing and scary than to know you could be jobless at a moment’s notice.

I’m English. I had Spain down to win this. I didn’t expect us to get anywhere near this final. Now, I dare to dream… It would be a great year to kick the conservatives out of government and win something for once all in the space of 10 days.

Edit: I guess he must be in the game considering the last part of the article saying they don’t seem to care about copyright. Now I can’t tell if the shady practices make me not want to play the game or the prospect of playing with Twink Baby Vegeta makes me want to try it…

I saw this game, like, 5 minutes ago and I can already say it looks bloody awful. It’s like they put all the buzzwords in a hat and decided to make a game from them.

I can see bits of Fotnite, Zelda, Pokemon, and every Minecraft clone under the sun. Not a single new thing brought to the table.

I loved Rocket League - it’s my 2nd most played game on Steam - but honestly that game died for me the moment they took the irregular shaped maps out of rotation to appease the whiny eSports players.

Now it’s just the same shit every match with a slightly different skin. They’ve got all these different modifiers (gravity, ball size, shape and bounciness) and game modes (hockey, basketball, dropshot), yet none of it gets integrated into the main game.

I’m aware that might just be me, and given how many years it’s been since that change, I imagine most of the user base is perfectly fine with how it is now, but it definitely lost its quirkiness from the early days.

I love it, but I do wish there were more songs.

It’s therapeutic being able to throw your thoughts into the void and have someone reply to them ❤️

Single player will be decent if a bit underwhelming, online will be a fucking train wreck. I’m not hyped. I honestly don’t care. I’ll get it when it’s on sale at a large discount a few years down the line and I’ll likely not bother with online.

It is supposed to be, technically. IIRC, you’re supposed to copy your own stuff - such as BIOS and ISOs - rather than download others, which is why things like PCSX2 doesn’t natively come with a BIOS.
