I genuinely tried to like the second game but the characters were so cringey that I just couldn’t make it past the first missions.

I had no idea this game still had such an active community. I remember being so disappointed by the wasted potential when it came out and this mod seems to restore the original vision the devs had for the game before Ubisoft forced them to cut corners. Very impressive for a title that did not have official mod support.

Looks promising. You rarely see Godot games with graphics like these.

That looks so much like Bioshock Infinite, it may as well be a direct sequel.

Hopefully that means that we’ll get a new Brothers in Arms sequel at some point.

24 years later, the name’s inherited an unfortunate irony – if you want to play Monolith’s classic FPS game, or its sequel, A Spy in H.A.R.M.’s Way, you can’t. For all intents and purposes, one of the most inventive and well-loved shooters of the early ‘00s is dead and buried, unavailable on Steam, GOG, or anywhere else, and seemingly doomed to be abandoned.

If anyone wants to check these games out, you can get them here for free:

I bought Project: Snowblind and E.Y.E: Divine Cybermancy for a total of 3 Euros. I’ve been replaying the entire Deus Ex Series over the last couple of months and these two games are kinda similar in nature and I’ve been wanting to play them for ages.

Pretty sure this is the reason then, OEM unlocks can trigger this on some devices.

Does this include all their former subsidiaries? That would be a pretty big deal.

That’s what I just did with my account of 10 years. I had all comments overwritten with gibberish and purged them a few days later. I’ll send them a final DSGVO request and delete it afterwards.

Saints Row 4 is the most fun I’ve had with a SR game. 2 and 3 were great in their own right, but 4 just nailed it. The movement and gameplay loop alone are fun enough to waste some very enjoyable hours.

I exerienced the stutter for years and ended up buying a 144 Hz monitor just to get rid of it. It’s much less noticeable at higher frequencies, which is most likely why you never noticed.

Can confirm. I have been playing since the beta and I hate it, yet I keep coming back…

Conservative logic.

“Video games turn you into a killer.” -> “Now that you got the chance you don’t want to kill IRL? Go to jail, hypocrite.”

Same here, one of the best phones I’ve ever had.

IMO the base 3060 is the best price/performance Nvidia card out right now and it’s over $100 cheaper than the 4060 Ti.

The music was generally all over the place IMO. I hated how they played that cheesy violin theme whenever they caught a whiff of someone being even slightly emotional and followed it up with their upbeat main theme right after. It’s definitely something they should work out before next year. I don’t remember it being this bad in the past.

I would be pretty surprised if they actually managed to hit a solid 30 fps on lowest PC settings. It’ll have to be a separate potato-mode to get it running. The game is absolutely beautiful but it’s also horribly optimized. Even my 3060 dipped to ~15 frames at times with a lot of action on the screen. And that was on medium to high settings.

Mafia 1. “Mr. Salieri sends his regards”. Need I say more?

I guess so, but the one in the first link wasn’t labeled, so I can’t tell which one it actually is. The ones in the second link are labeled though.

I played this on the original Xbox years after it came out and it’s still a great game. I can recommend it to anyone who enjoyed the movie or games of the genre. Some of the gameplay features were pretty ahead of its time.

Pretty sure my first major video game was Colin McRae Rally 2.0 and it started my fascination for cars.

My favorite game from my childhood would probably be Mafia 1 though, I still replay it like once a year. Halo CE is a close second.

Interesting spin on the “A delayed game is eventually good, but a rushed game is forever bad”-quote.

I also just finished Alan Wake 2. The first game is in my top 3 favorite games of all time, so I was super excited for the sequel. The overall presentation is definitely A++ and so are the graphics. However, there were a couple of really obvious and annoying bugs that should never have made it past QA.

While I really liked the new characters, the overall storyline has become (even by Remedy standards) extremely convoluted and the ending wasn’t very satisfying. I also found the constant references to Finland a bit too much on the nose and they kinda took me out of the game a couple of times.

Of course the game makes it up in other aspects, such as the new gameplay that was clearly inspired by Resident Evil, which I also really like. Alan’s mind place was also fun and I found the ability change the scenes by rewriting them very creative. Saga’s mind place started out great as well, but it started to feel like a chore as the game went on.

Despite the nit-picking, it is pretty good game overall and I’m excited for their future projects in this universe.

The first one is one of the greatest games of all time IMO, it’s better to experience it first hand. This video is more of a TL;DR.

You can regularly grab the original on sale for less than 5 bucks, so it’s definitely worth it. The graphics are a bit dated by now though.

This is the single most coherent summary of the story that I’ve seen so far. I don’t think I’ve been this excited for a game in years.

I hope Intel can get a solid foothold between AMD and Nvidia. There really needs to be more fairly priced competition in the GPU market.

I recently replayed the first Soldier of Fortune and Perfect Dark back to back and I gotta say they nailed the retro style in this game. I can’t wait to play it.

Wow, pretty radical, but what a cool move. I’m sure it’ll be a good thing for the fans of the games and universe in the long run.

This looks pretty impressive and polished, especially for a movie adaption. I just hope they keep the Ubisoft bullshit to a minimum.
