With this and the Day One Steam Deck, it really shows us what the future of gaming could have been.

Now give me a uplay - crossplay license for PC, Xbox and PS4/5 (with streaming licenses for geforcenow, Xbox Cloud and PS-Whatever it is) and I’d day 1, Ultimate-Deluxe-Gold w/ Season One Season Pass that shit.

They won’t. But we could have lived there instead of the land of minimal effort, 4th rate headline grabs of desperation. Instead the Guillemots (let’s all agree to name and shame multimillionaires from here on out, every chance we get) angle their golden chutes away from the impact zone as the company puts all it’s underpaid, non-unionized dev teams hopes and dreams of eating this summer against a bloated budget and assembly lined “creative decisions”.

Lucked in to a 5080fe through the Nvidia lottery (and it comes with 2 cases of soylent yellow!). This may be the 2nd thing I fire up after Cyberpunk.

This typo is amazing. Please do not edit.

The Nemesis System within the Wonder Woman game was the reverse of what is in the Middle-Earth games. Instead of enemies being empowered, Wonder Woman would befriend NPCs.

Damn, as someone who likes a good, getting cats out of trees, talking to the goblins that took over your house, NPC helping time, this bums me out.

Been playing quite a bit of the saboteur lately. Its a great game.

Damn. I mildly followed this via some podcasts I listen too. Didn’t even realize they had relaunched after the bullshit beta.

Good riddance to another failed WB attempt to exploit rather than honor their IP.

The amount of corporate environments running old builds, 3+ patches behind or pro/home versions would shock anybody with an inkling of security awareness.

If you’re going to run Windows as a business and especially if you’re going to rely on Defender, you gotta be on top of shit. Most are woefully far outside of that

They’re not withholding, this is a normal lifecycle for their OS’es (technically this one is already an extended deadline due to covid). The fact that Win10 had a 10 year life is the first time they have done so (LTS builds not withstanding). The amount of vulnerabilities and patching necessary to keep that husk going isn’t worth the squeeze to them.

Even Linux builds are lucky to reach 10 years of support on a given kernel.

Mint Life Cycle

Ubuntu Life Cycle

The OS being unsupported is a terrible idea. Especially is you’re relying on Defender for EDR… either switch OS’es or upgrade. There is no sense in running vulnerable devices. You’re only creating more attack surfaces. I sympathize with the user that can’t afford an upgrade, but they gotta aware and accountable of the consequence. Arch, btw

Gross. I feel like they only add the content bloat as a justification for the world size. I really enjoyed Origins but fell off the latter 2 before getting halfway.

Intel U7 and 11 Home?!

Hell yeah, I’ve never been more disinterested in what will surely be a trash experience!

While I love the sentiment, it might be a matter of both unfortunately. But, we have NCSoft at the helm instead of TenCent.

I never thought I’d say this but, I hope Google loses their appeal on the third party store…

I’m so fucking tired of line goes up capitalism preventing us from being able to enjoy the things we’ve already purchased…

Yes. And don’t let the “no it’s a meta account only now” crowd play that card. It’s the same company sucking the same data in to the same ad drenched glory hole.

This wasn’t the case with the Quest 1 until it was. You could run that completely standalone with SteamVR after the backlash over a required account, then once the blowback subsided, they reintroduced the requirement.

We learned this last year after dusting off the OG Quest and trying to get it running with SteamVR. It straight refused to work without a FB/Meta account. Creating a new one has a bunch of bullshit hoops that failed when attempted behind any type of ad blocking DNS so I gave up and put the paperweight back in the case and moved on.

Fuck Meta. Fuck FB. And Fuck anything else Zuck and co touch.

Sorry for the rant it’s early and I haven’t had caffeine.

It’s a fantastic option at this point. I’ve been a GeForce Now user since 15 or 16 (whenever they launched the ShieldTV beta) and it’s… ok? You can still run it on deck as well of there’s any concern.

Worth considering he could also use GeForce now while saving for a Steam Deck. Used ones go on sale for under $300 pretty frequently.

There is also The Crew, Forza Motorsport, Forza Horizon as well as Gran Turismo to mention a few more that I have played. Plus a whole slew of hardcore F1 titles, Nascar titles and the Trackmania series.

There might be something in there that catches your attention. Could just be a case of these not surfacing in your algorithm to get noticed.

My wife and I had and interesting pandemic that required a lot of travel unfortunately.

We gamed almost exclusively on Stadia while doing so and it was near flawless. I know it’s meme for Google to kill things but man did that one really sting.

GeForce Now, PS Whatever and Xbox Cloud all aren’t there when it comes to how immediate Stadia felt. I’ll forever be bummed that they didn’t hold out for a few more years until mainstream adoption.

Interesting that when asked to bring a self founded viewpoint you return to the core conceit despite presenting counter arguments to the contrary in all prior responses.

Once again, what would prove to YOU that someone had a history or resume to be valid in a statement about prior experience in regards to new ventures?

Take the focus off this exact scenario and Bethesda Dev. Throughout the thread, there has been several other scenarios presented but none have hit home with you. What I’m asking is, what previous qualifications for a new role in an exact industry would be something you’d accept as proof of validity?

This isn’t meant to be confrontational, I’m legitimately curious. I see these sentiments a lot on the Internet and it leads to a flurry of downvotes without anyone asking the person receiving them what would be their desired outcome / goal.

So to frame it in that regards, would someone being a lead engine developer give more credence to a solo project? Being a project manager? Having a varied CV that showed growth across a company providing a base understanding of several different disciplines without a targeted focus on one? Or something as simple as “they worked on the questlines that I personally liked”?

Genuinely interested in what would make YOU happy or impressed by an announcement like this.

Add Blackbraid to that list as well. Amazing one man native black metal from the Adirondack region.

A shit ton of services are down right now. Smells like an attack.

is this sarcasm? lol he did Ready Player One. the ultimate video game movie!

good news there. would of (woulda) been a massive hit for the remedy team.

Absolutely agree with this statement. They seem to have no pipeline for keeping up with this console lifecycle.

As the owner of a Series X and PS5, they’re just streaming boxes that I occasionally use to play stuff that won’t run under Proton.

hell no! why do something pro consumer when you can just raise prices

Thankfully they’ve updated the design to address the stick drift!

Goddammit… I don’t have time for this!

Another article that highlighs inherent flaws in the American legal system. How can this potentially be an actual lawsuit? How can "journalists" even entertain reporting on this? Honestly I'm just posting to laugh at my fellow lemmings responses and watch see how the plaintiff is roasted for not gitting gud. But, there is a real conversation here around continued ignorance of game development and the value of difficult games as a value proposition. Afterall, the person attempting to sue from did choose to purchase the games willingly knowing they're not for scrub casuals like themselves. What do you all think, is difficulty gating content a real issue? Should dev's have some kind of legal requirement to appease players that can spec a build properly? Is it Thursday and I'm just looking for some easy laughs at a morons expense?
