4v1 asymetrical has long ago ruined any chances of a legacy franchise horror game.

I hate this style of gameplay. It encourages min/maxing, griefing and requires YouTube strat watching. I am too old for all that shit. I just want to play a decently made (quality here can match the movies honestly) b-tier game in these worlds I grew up loving. Instead, I try these things at launch when they’re buggy but still have some equality as the player base hasn’t gone full toxic and then by the time they’re patched and stable, its full of sweats or dead.

By now we’ve burned through Evil Dead, Killer Klowns, Texas Chainsaw and Friday the 13th chasing Dead by Daylight money.

What a fucking waste of dev resources. All it’s done is make each and everyone of those potentially great franchises for story telling appear too unprofitable for suits to jump in again…likely never on some of them.

I feel the same about most these games but I did thoroughly enjoy Predator: Hunting Grounds. Not quite the same play style since you can actually kill the predator, pretty cool game mechanic cause there’s multiple ways to win. You can complete your mission and avoid the predator until you extract or if you kill the predator you have to first off avoid the giant explosion he creates then guard his body and face waves of human enemies until you can extract. I really tried to get my buddies to get into that game cause it was a lot of fun. Playing as the predator though was quite overwhelming, you had to play a lot to get upgrades to even be competent.

I think asymmetrical could be fun, but it is really hard to get the balance right.

All of those games including dead by daylight make the movement feel so bad that I just can’t stick with them though.

Like, you’re being chased by Killer Klowns and you run like you’re in a CSGO map with full tactical gear on. It’s just dumb.
