My first reaction was “that’s bullshit, of course I know what I want”. I love story driven games in a grand world with some fighting, but it shouldn’t be the focus. My favorite games are Horizon, Uncharted, Dragon-Age, Skyrim. But then I thought about all the similar games I don’t like, like GTA, Ghosts of Tsushima, Red Dead Redemption, Fallout, Metal Gear Solid., Zelda.

Meh. Not having high hopes. Also, with movies I believe that it got made and released when I see it. So many projects are scrapped before people get a chance to see them.

I enjoyed every Dragon-age game so far and Veilguard is no exception. I think the writing is fine. Not great, but good enough. I can see why some people would complain, because it’s definitely watered down compared to DA:O. But I am still having fun almost 60 hours into the game.

Is there maybe a generational gap? I am older and I very, very rarely watch videos. Maybe when I am totally stuck in a game will I watch a walkthrough. But just watching other people play is something my kids and their friends do. I think games just caught up to sports, where most fans spend more time watching than playing as well.

I have it on the PS5 and did four playthroughs already. No other game since the last two Deus Ex games has captured the spirit of cyberpunk so damn well. And with CP77 being open world, it is so easy and nice to immerse yourself in the world. One of my favorite games of all time.

Security and convenience will forever be on opposing sites of a spectrum. You can move alongside the spectrum but more of one thing will mean less of the other. That’s just a fact.

I loved the feeling of the game, but the pointless random fights ruined the game for me. You just walk around, come across some open space and realize there will be a fight for no reason at all. Fights should be part of the story and not just forced for the sake of them.

I spent about 400 hours in Night City and I am itching for another run. The game just really did it for me.

A friend just did the same thing. My two PS5 controllers I’ve had since the beginning are still fine, luckily. The price tag for the DualSense Edge controllers, which apparently have the hall effect sensors built-in, is absolutely ridiculous. I saw them on Amazon for just under €230. Almost half as much as I paid for the damn console. I don’t know what the guys at Sony smoked, but it was too much.

THIS IS AN OUTRAGE!

That copyright can be inherited is one of the atrocious fuckups we let happen.

I just started DA:I again and am indeed collecting shards in the Hinterlands. But it feels OK, so far. I have so many memories of that game, with the first playthrough clocking in at about 100 hours. I like being able to run around and discover stuff and with the influence score it feels like progress. But I’ll still give Veilguard a chance.

Steam doesn’t even give me the option to install DA:O because it’s only available for Windows.

They seem to explore a different style for each Dragon Age game. I loved the shit out of DA:O and am still sad that no sequel captured the atmosphere of DA:O. But I still enjoyed every DA game. DA:I in particular was a lot of fun, even though it was not Origins. So I am hopeful that I’ll enjoy Veilguard as well.

I just wish I could play DA:O again. But I don’t have a Windows PC anymore.

I have no insight into the issues regarding this game, but I’ll just assume that, as with most bad things, business majors are to blame.

I think I spent close to 400 hours in Night City over 4 playthroughs. Good Night, Valerie. Today was a good day.

I love great long games. I want to be sucked into the game and enjoy it for as long as possible.

It’s one of the very few games I’ve finished thrice. It just really grabbed me.

I thought Google owned Motorola, but I missed the sale to Lenovo ten years ago.

Control was such a nice surprise. I hadn’t heard anything about it and just grabbed it on a whim in some sale and I loved the game from start to end.

I started Death Stranding but didn’t enjoy it. Then I looked up the story on Wikipedia and what the fuck?

Indeed. I want easy mode and cheats in my games. I am paying for them, let me play the way I want. Sometimes I play with normal difficulty, sometimes in story mode. And sometimes I just want to be immortal and have infinite money. I don’t know why basically no developer makes this available.

Only slightly related question: is there such a thing as an external nVidia GPU for AI models? I know I can rent cloud GPUs but I am wondering if long-term something like an external GPU might be worth it.

As far as I know the Bitwarden browser plugin for Firefox does not yet support WebAuthn/Passkeys, as it’s still on the September release. Chrome is already on the October version. A build of Vaultwarden from yesterday onwards should support storing it, once your browser is ready.

Mankind Divided already felt like they decided right in the middle that it’s ready to be shipped. The final boss fight had such mid-boss energy and the story didn’t feel finished either.

Well, no piece of art has an intrinsic value. And auction houses exist to make money, not because of some divine purpose to connect true art to its worthy new owner. Of course they’re going to jump on the hype train if they think it’s worth it. I fully agree that NFTs are a scam, like almost all crypto crap. But so is the current art market. Money laundering and investments for the rich.

Since backing SC I’ve met my wife, got married and had three children. Two of which are already going to school. It’s crazy how much you can accomplish in 13 years. I wonder if the game will be done before my oldest turns 18.

What do you do with Tasker? It sounds like an amazing solution to problems I don’t have.
