I just defeated him. He was a bit difficult.

I don’t know I could have upgraded the needle already, so I defeated him with the base needle.

Then I looked up where to use the oil and found out I could have fought him with 3 needle upgrades 😂

I hardly ever use the tools. They are full for me most of the time.

I have played through Hollow Knight twice so I am pretty familiar with this gameplay style and I did just recently played through Hollow knight again before this game came out. I agree this game is difficult, but it’s not that difficult. Every boss has a pattern that can be learned after three or four tries.

I think shen megami tensi didn’t before them. Dragon quest might have, but I’m not sure about that one.

I wouldn’t mind checkpoints before the boss even if it’s not a bench and more of a “retry” option.

But the annoyance of run backs raises the stakes of the fight a bit. Like, “Please let me win this time so I don’t have to do another run back.”

But I was annoyed at a particular fight that started without warning and I had not really explored the new area yet, so I didn’t have a chance to find a closer bench.

Yeah! Check out the impossible port videos by modern vintage gamer.

It really shows how well games could run on older hardware if devs cared to optimize it.

With that being said, someone is porting Mario 64 to the gameboy advance by super optimizing it.

It looks like that might be the case. I found a post asking for this and a long list of people commenting on it asking for it.

If they did, I’d totally get all most of my games on gog. But it’s like half the price on Steam(depending on the game)

As a side note, resident evil 2 remake was actually more expensive here by like a dollar or 2.

I’ll have to look again, I’ve never seen them advertise pricing in the country where I live.

They are getting charged with DDOSing these companies though.

/joke

I keep forgetting this game came out. I guess it was bad as no one’s really talking about it as much as people talked about civ 6.

I got my start with civ 5.

Thanks! I have all that prepared as I was ready to reinstall.

I’ll try this first 🙏

If gog had regional pricing, I’d have bought it there.

Thanks! How do I boot into a live environment? Is it an option from the boot menu?

I live outside the US so with me regional pricing it’s like $12.

Now, my steamdeck will not boot up.

It was glitchy after a decky update so I’ve got to fix that first.

Discounty - Review
cross-posted from: https://lemmy.dbzer0.com/post/52124778 > This game is fun and has me hooked. I finished it after just a few days. > > But the game feels incomplete and slightly rushed. > > For example, as you progress through the game you can unlock new items to sell, but you unlock some items at the very end of the game, so it feels kind of pointless. > > The fast travel system is not super useful as it takes you to places on the map that are kind of inconvenient and the games maps is small enough to just run to the destination just as fast in most instances. > > > The inventory management system is a bit annoying, you can only pick up stacks of 5 items. Not at the max, but at all. So if you just need to grab one apple to restock, you have to run back and forth to return the excess apples from the stack. You can also get into a situation where you don’t have a place to put an item down and need to trash it instead. > > Money is never an issue in this game and there are perks to lower purchase prices, but it’s completely irreverent as you always have enough money. > > The reward points you get to unlock things is also a bit pointless as you easy get so many of them that by the time you progress in the story and unlock the next tier, you can just buy everything right away. > > The little town seems like there could be so much lore and things to unlock, but nothing happens. I assumed I was only halfway done the game when I finished it as there is so much left unresolved. > > I assumed the game was made by a solo dev, but the credits rolled and I was shocked at how many people worked on this game. > > So, while it was fun. I would not recommend buying it in its current state. I think it needs a few big dlcs before it can call itself a completed game.

Thanks! I don’t have that, but I access YouTube through a web browser on the iPhone with a plugin to give Picture in Picture without premium.

It’s like my fantasies as a kid thinking about how good I’d be at sports if I could go super sayain

I thought oblivion got pretty repetitive at least the main quest did. Also, leveling was quite slow.

Near the end of the main quest, I just ran to the end of each tower just to get it over with.

I played the original instead of buying the remaster, so maybe there were some changes to the remaster to make it more interesting.

That’s amazing news! I recently replaced hollow knight and have a long flight coming up in October, sounds like the perfect game to play.

I agree with you, I typically only leave a review when something is terrible as a warning.

I’ve never left a review for stardew valley and I have around 500hrs or so.

I didn’t think they did. I don’t buy anything from them either because of that either.

I rarely have had good experiences with Bluetooth.

I do not even know which version of Bluetooth I have, but the version numbers are confusing enough that I don’t know which version has which features.

Maybe that’s my fault, but when I see tech advertising the Bluetooth version and features, i just hope my device supports those features.

Anyway, I’m done with my rant.

I don’t think cds and dvds hold data for too long. I guess it’s better than a hard drive.

I was thinking it would be easier with gog games.

You can just burn the install directory to a disk and then insert the disk and launch the game without launchers

Now I want to install a game to a disk and run it from the disk drive, my dad’s old desktop has a drive. I wonder if it can burn dvds.

Maybe I could install stardew valley to the disk.

I think my preference for halo 1 is pure nostalgia. I have so many memories of my best friend at the time and I going co-op legendary. Or using “gamespy?” To play online matches.

I don’t remember halo 3 too well, but I remember getting a 360 for it and I remember playing it on my 30” 1080i crt.

I was in university at the time, so I was more focused on other things at that time. Halo 1 was it for me.

I worked at Apple when iPhone became available at Verizon (huge US telecom).

Apple was set up for this huge launch and expected crowds of people. The store was way overstaffed that day and pretty uneventful.

One guy came up and asked us where the Verizon store was 😂 when someone told them we could do all the account stuff in the Apple Store I think he still chose to go to Verizon.

Anyway, that’s just an example to highlight your point.

Neither don’t play them or ignore additional methods of monetization built into the game. It’s like they don’t exist.

If there is too much dlc, it makes me feel like the base game is an empty shell. Even if it’s not true, it turns me off from the game. Look at sims 4 and one of those city builder games.

Is this game worth getting for a single player experience in the Steam deck?

That last photo is really great! What a beautiful game.

I don’t think I ever noticed that the entrance was a beasts open mouth.

Omg! You can stun them!?!?

I was so frustrated with them on a recent play through.

It’s great! But there are some frustrating parts in the game like escort missions. Or janky psychics where a wall don’t blow up because, well I don’t know. It just didn’t one time.

Totk ran fine for me on the switch. I guess some parts had lag, but I can’t remember having any serious performance issues.

Thoughts on Final Fantasy VII Remake
I grew up playing Final Fantasy VII. I probably played it around 10-12 years old and again on ios a few years ago. WOW! What a classic. I decided to play the remake on my Steam Deck just ot revisit the game and see areas of the game reimagined. They did a great job in this aspect, but overall I feel that the game has not been fun. So far, it is just walking from place to place while having the occasional battle. 99% of the time you can mindlessly mash a button to find the battle. The few boss battles that come up can be interesting and this is where you start to learn the mechanics as they are not needed up until this point. But, there are many sections that are long for the sake of being long. Like making you walk slowly in certain situations, like walking up to 7th Heaven, or making you hold a button to interact with something when 99% of things just require you to press the button once. My biggest disappointment in the game is that the gear I unlocked and leveled up, do not carry over to the next game. Once I learned this, I stopped caring. They really should have let you bring over your characters. Anyway, I am near the end game now and will probably finish it since there is not much left, but I will not be playing other iterations of this game. I might just watch a speed-run or a "let's play" to see the different areas.
