Fallout 3 is very similar to Skyrim.

I’d suggest that.

If you’re comfortable with modding, in suggest “A Tale of two wastelands” as this merges fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas into a single game.

Fallout 1 and 2 are very different games. Good, but nothing like Skyrim.

Fallout 4 feels very different, not in a bad way but it’s not got the charm of Skyrim or Fallout 3, that lovely feeling of finding things in a flawlessly crafted world.

How about Fallout? Two of them are a similar experience.

For a while, meta progression felt like a clever way to keep games fresh. You’d unlock new gear, perks, or passive bonuses between runs, and that sense of forward motion made failure feel productive.

Sounds like regular progression?

Working well for me, cloud saves and all.

No connection issues here so maybe a coincidence you couldn’t connect?

What other game lets you…

Stun Gun till they wet themselves.

Pour petrol on them while they’re down

Flick a match on them when they get up

Piss on the corpse when they fall down

Wonder if there’s something my subconscious is telling me?

😁

My husband has 64gb RAM right now.

Anyone wanna swap half of it for a stream frame?

He probably wouldn’t notice if I steal it

Personally, I’d much rather hear an oddly-intoned human voice than a nondescript, anodyne robot.

An oddly intoned voice would be in keeping with the original. The voice acting was B-movie bad and hilarious.

I was confused by your metaphor so was genuinely trying to clarify!

I couldn’t work out if you thought they’re wasting resources on Linux or should be investing in Linux

Looking at that girl I assume it’ll mostly come out in 2026. Mostly.

And what my car is mostly made of right now.

(It was brand new when Star Citizen was announced)

Ixion

Thought it was another generic fun little city builder.

And it is only it has some absolutely unique mechanics that are fun, a really good approach to unlocking through research, and a genuinely beautiful setting.

Seriously, the music, the story and the voice acting make it a genuinely rich experience.

Call the companies, yourself and your representative?

I couldn’t get through to any of them 😟

Have you considered that you don’t have to send a full message when you mistype?

People know that happens

Why are you not fighting for this?

I still repplay now and then, there’s no game like it.

Sadly the sequals failed to capture the grace of the original, though I’ve not tried 3 yet.

My Picks…

Deus Ex (So many games try to be this and fail)

Cyberpunk (This one eventually measured up)

Alpha Centauri (Innovation mixed with familiarity and setting)

Fallout 2 (they’re all good. Fallout 2 is special)

Kotor (Star Wars story telling in a beautiful way)

Baldur’s Gate 2 and 3 (I’m stunned that 3 was a worthy successor)

Homeworld (One of the World’s truly beautiful games)

The bad guys are the bleach, and humans are the germs.

Kills 99.9%

We find the 0.1% as we play!

Countries have treaties around mutually enforcing intellectual property, probably would come into play here and allow for the US party to file a claim against them in a European court.

Quality assessment A man of taste, discernment and sophistication

I tried to love Heliboard too, had similar issues.

Moved to FUTO Keyboard after a recommendation on here, really happy with it

Mass Effect, almost certainly with plenty of honourable mentions to other games.

Peak is the Dramatic Scene at the end of ME1 after the final boss. Really really moved by events on Tuchunka and Rannoch.

Favourite moment outside Mass Effect, JC Denton saying “You’re gonna burn, alright”

Swtor and surviving Mars. Both around the 2000 hours mark.

Fallout / NV and Skyrim, each around 1000 hours

I do love those games.

Did anyone ever fill out those registration cards?

Exactly.

Old games come in large cardboard boxes to accommodate the manual, with disks rattling around inside.

And in one case, a vacuum packed t-shirt too!

I’m with this. Totally agree.

What game is there that does this kind of gameplay better?

Only the original Deus Ex has captured this genre so well.

Sounds for me like Blizzard have taken over the role of the gold sellers themselves and with the same ethical standards.

Where do the tokens come from?

Are people buying them from Blizzard for real cash and then listing them in the auction house?
