my pixel 8 since I took it out of the box I charge it between 20% to 80% and use a peltier cooler so it doesn’t heat up too much and decreases the battery life

Of course it’s slow, it’s full of telemetry, spyware and built-in AI junk, it couldn’t be any different

Install GSI on a Projet Treble device (Xiaomi Mi A2)
Hello everyone I have an old Xiaomi Mi A2 smartphone however that still works perfectly and I saw that it is compatible with Google's Project Treble Would anyone be able to tell me if I can download the GSI from Android 15 or 16 and install it normally? I know there will be some minor bugs but having the basic functionality OK, no problem.

It is obvious that I will upload my files to feed a private AI of a company with a terrible reputation for privacy policy and that will use this data to further enrich and use this data to make many human jobs obsolete and even help to perfect the perpetual and inescapable surveillance state

Fixing the headline: New unwanted spyware from a tech monopolistic behemoth will scan your messages to improve their AI and profit from you

But as far as I know, I can’t change the firmware and install Libreboot or Coreboot

They’re going all-in on AIs for the average consumer, and they’re probably going to break their faces unless their AI plan is even more ambitious and is targeting governments and businesses

I hope that Pixel phones will not become as rare and coveted by the free software community in the near future as the Thinkpads of IBM’s golden age and the beginning of the Lenovo era

As far as I know you can do this only with a rooted device but I may be wrong

Space Karen wants more money to reach 1 Trillion dollars sooner than expected

I recommend you use some keyboard that is open source and that doesn’t have an internet connection urgently. Samsung’s default keyboard has internet connection, full of spyware and collects metadata of everything you type on it. Simple Keyboard I think is a good option

With the MemoryGuardian (FOSS) app, you can set up to automatically clean the clipboard at any time you choose and you don’t have to use the adb and expose the device to vulnerabilities

I think that’s a better approach

Currently I’m using a Pixel 8 and I’ll wait to buy the next model when EU obligate them to sell the phone with swappable battery

Don’t know exactly I only realized when I checked my DNS queries.

Probably, your device model, ip address, timezone and so on

oh yeah, the land of “free market” …

PS: Stolen land

Use a DNS firewall because when you start the app it sends telemetry data to Mozilla.

We, as a human race, will face so many problems, of various orders and magnitudes in the near future, that thinking about colonizing Mars will be considered an outrage.

You’re right but missing an important factor

No, I use GrapheneOS and all my apps are very basic and open source, I dont have Google Play services too and the battery life is poor.

I hope they fix the overheating and poor battery performance on Pixels. I had Pixel 6 and now Pixel 8 and both have the same problem

Apple “tracker protection” is a lie. The capability to track users is embedded in the source code of the proprietary software, the only thing ATP does is not share your advertising ID with other beyond Apple. Advertising ID which shouldn’t even exist in the first place.

this approach may leak data, don’t blindly trust it
