I was going to play it, but poor linix compatibility with the ubisoft launcher killed that for me.

Been playing an early leaked copy. It’s quite good. The summoning mechanic is much deeper than I thought it would be.

Items respond to eachother. If you send a Fire Slime onto grass blades, they catch on fire. If you put a bouyant object on water it will float.

If you out a rock on that bouyant object, it will sink. It’s pretty next level.

People keep saying thia, but there’s really only 2 of any worth. Overwatch and Paladins.

Where is this ocean of games?

Patents as well as intellectual property laws, are entirely unnatural and only exist to prop up Capital.

Its against human nature to prevent cultural iteration.

My favorite part about hacking systems is when someone makes other controllers compatible.

In using my Xbox controller on my hacked Wii U.

Looks like a classic Battlefield game, vust closer to the OG star Wars Battlefront 2

Eh, there is no such thing as preserving a live service game. Lots of OW1 copies on disc that are coasters now

It’s also worth noting that too many people put out way too much imagery of themselves online. People have got to start expecting that anything you put out in the public domain becomes public domain.

I staunchly disagree with this. If a government actually cared about power consumption, they would subsidize the development of better X86 to arm translation layers so we can move to more power efficient processors.

There’s actually a lot we could do in order to reduce our energy consumption.

Another step I would take is completely outlawing the sale of advertisements to data brokers. There are so many resources that go to pumping out advertisements from servers, and it really just is not beneficial to anybody except for the companies.

I know this would not be popular among a lot of developers, but for certain applications, I would also curb planned obsolescence by creating a minimum viable processor and graphics requirement for certain applications. A lot of the times, the kinds of applications we use just don’t need as much power as they’re guzzling We need to end the feature creep.

It was also at the time a pitch perfect execution of a home/handheld console hybrid. They launched a new class of hardware effectively.

They might stop. The rumor is they are swapping to premium Steam Deck style, Xbox Branded PCs next gen.

They could sell a niches product like that at at profit if they wanted.

Nintendo for example, has always avoided the loss leading model, and makes like $50 off each unit sold. (Those figures were from launch, its Likely more now that production costs have inevitably gone down over time)

What are you talking about? Nintendo’s absolutely killing it financially.

Of course they have. Consoles are a loss-leading model. They literally lose money every time they sell you a video game console. If you can get somebody in your ecosystem on a separate system, why wouldn’t you?

Trust me the market could use some competition. The only thing that really comes close to OW is Paladins.

I’m a console collector, tons of retro consoles. My rule of thumb is I don’t buy a system until there are 10 games on it that are exclusive that I’d like to play.

Hard disagree. Games are substantially more profitable than they’ve ever been. The user base has gone up massively and manufacturing costs have gone down with the digital era.

Even when they raise the prices, they don’t get rid of the battle passes and DLCs.

See, but this doesn’t really hurt Nintendo’s sales. The problem is there just really are no games on PS5 worth playing that you can’t play somewhere else.

Well yeah there’s no games on it. Between PC and ps4, there’s not much I cant play.

I’ve been doing some market analysis on the viability of indie projects. My brother and I are starting to develop a game after he’s finished up his computer science degree (Im a graphics major BTW). Anyway I slice it, the only way to remain profitable would be to have a small team as possible.

I have no idea why a lot of these companies think that growth is actually going to be better for them in the indie space.

As long as you aren’t beholden to specific software, it is becoming increasingly pleasant to use the Linux ecosystem.

Frankly, I never understood why businesses were invested in the office suite anyway. Considering there are so many good open source alternatives.

The only pain point in it’s getting a little better is graphic design.

Well, of course they have the highest bug reports. Linux users naturally report bugs due to their history in open source.

The Steam Deck will continue to be the best system as long as Windows is so atrocious for handheld gaming.

Id love to play FF16, but the bastards made it PS exclusive

It reminds me of Rocket Knight for Genesis. The Japanese version is deliberately easier and the correct way to play. The US version is buggered

Id argue that exclusive games are only so good because they NEED to be to sell consoles.

Fallbacks are incredibly common. There are fall backs for Ray Tracing, for example. All of these are optimization.

Lacking this level of optimization from the start was a sham. And Alex helped let them.get away with it.

Thankfully the game flopped, Im sure in no small part to its inaccesibility on a larger range of hardware, so the devs lowered the functional requirements.

Digital Foundry puts tech demo featuresets over a reasonably designed game, every single time. Nvidia relies on these narratives to push wasteful hardware.

John and Richard are the only hosts I care about these days. Alex and Oliver have become insufferable .

How can you possibly say that under a video that literally showed better optimization on old cards being possible?

I remember Alex not too long ago acting like optimization was not the problem with Alan Wake 2 and that the game truly just needed bigger and better cards to function. These people are so shamelessly pro-corporation. video actually made me irate.

I highly recommend getting cheap Chinese emulation handheld. I bought the R36s not to long ago for about.$50 and it kicks ass.

I like how Kagis search AI works. It gives a link to all of the sources it scraped from.

Bruh, the Steam Deck is Linux.

Wouldn’t it be nice if they would just pull a valve and allow these developers to come aboard and develop stuff for them? It’s free money.

I need to preface this by saying it’s really stupid that anyone’s sending threats, but I think the reason they’re doing it is because Nintendo has made a very hard-line stance against small esport events. You arent allowed to host events without their permission

It barely even did that right. What makes Bethesda games work is that they’re such an a dense amount of content on a map, but because they partitioned this out through different points in space, it just felt like it was floating around everywhere.

I’m gonna have to disagree. As somebody who was an Overwatch addict, these games are designed to effectively be like drugs. They are not meant for children and shouldn’t be purported as such.

These are casinos playing in simple.

In fact, it’s much less incentivized for a game that is one and done, even multiplayer titles if they are a paid game.

Yeah, the entire staff from the company he worked that quit and started a second channel. He’s basically just continuing as if he never stopped.
