A supposed insider on Reddit mentioned that this will be their new hardware ecosystem which will allow combining multiple devices for improved performance. The example they gave was having a desktop, a Steam Deck, and a new Deckard VR headset then using 2 or all 3 of these devices in tandem for better gaming performance.
They also mentioned the new Half-Life game is likely to be announced in the first half of September for release in November, however in could be delayed until next year if they aren’t perfectly happy with the state of the game.
This person said this is all part of the “Steam Next” era which will be introduced to the world with an Orange Box kind of release.
Interesting, they did do a lot of world building in Shipbreaker that they could absolutely branch out with.
Hopefully their next projects are more fully realized. Shipbreaker had an incredible foundation for a game but I think they really dropped the ball on the last couple major updates. The game felt 75% finished at best.
My biggest issue with Destiny 2 is that I paid $60 for it and then it soon went free to play and I had absolutely nothing to show for that $60 I paid.
Edit: oh yeah and that original $60 campaign was removed from the game by the time I went back to check out what was new. There was straight up less content available for me after not playing for a year. I felt so ripped off that I wrote the game off.
I’ll probably stick with the external item descriptions mod but this is a great update. The trinket buffs are so very welcome.
At this point there’s way too much quality of life added to Rep+ to go back now.
