Looks like a likeable character, why are ppl mad?

It’s both for me. Example: I like Grubby and his WC3 content, never watched him playing Dota as it doesn’t pique my interest. I don’t watch ToD’s WC3 streams because I cannot stand his personality.

But neither is there an obligation for anyone to provide the content I enjoy nor am I obligated to watch content of anyone that I don’t enjoy.

They did the same with Dota 2. If you wanted a key, you could just ask Valve directly and get one (if none of your friends had a spare), it was not an exclusive club house for the cool kids.

I don’t think it’s 4D-marketing chess, it’s more like people who’ve already shown enough interest to ask for an invite are more likely to leave feedback when they find something off with it.

Cazadores actually walk and it just looks like they are flying. They are blocked by objects, can’t cross gaps in the terrain or cross rivers (they can’t swim either).

Vertibirds in FO4 are based on the Skyrim dragons and that’s why they tumble towards you when you shoot them. They can definitely adjust their height tho, they do that often to “avoid” the skyscrapers in downtown Boston even tho they can just fly through them. Not sure if it’s the upper part of the building that doesn’t have collision or if the vertibird is just exempt of colliding with buildings tho.

Making enemies really fly would be the hard part, I guess.

Do a Child of Atom playthrough, if you haven’t already.

Rush to Far Harbor and acquire the Robes of Atom’s Devoted and end the DLC by destroying FH for the perk. Wear the robes, get irradiated until almost dead (above 900 rads) and congratulations, you now deal double damage, are immune to radiation and ignore the effects of rads on your HP bar.

They won’t learn anything. They only nulled their bullshit because it would hurt their financial quarter because their biggest cash cow game at the moment is bombing. They only way to maybe make them learn would be if every single one of the “outraged gamers” would just uninstall and never play it again, but that won’t happen and Sony knows that (which is why they can try pulling that shit in the first place).

Good for the peeps in non-PSN countries tho. For them, this is a real win.

Because in 2024, it’s not important whether you have fun or not, the important thing to focus on is that nobody else has any fun.

I do have the mod that cuts the PC voice lines. Essential imo, as it’s very, very immersion-breaking. You chug a beer, go to a merchant and you do that drunken awkward “Helloooo” which is cool, but in the following convo, you are sobering up immediately. Makes no sense and thus doesn’t work.

The problem with the dialog itself is that it’s always the same for every convo: up for “More info/repeat info”, right for “No/Not now”, down for “Yes” and left for “Sarcastic/more money, but yes”. In NV, you could get locked out of conversations if the NPC didn’t like your response (like Arcade permanently leaving if you tell him “Don’t like it? Leave.”). No such thing in FO4. It’s just too tailored to console controls to accommodate for interesting dialog trees. Dialogue options being summarized in a bad or misleading way is just one issue.

Btw, if you like settlement building and spend a lot of time there, I highly recommend a mod called Icebreaker. It adds a ton of voice lines to your settlers, so it’s not the same line over and over again.

The main problem with FO4 is the voiced PC and the asinine dialogue structure. The map is amazing, I’d argue it’s better than the F:NV map.

I started using Discord because Skype was pissing me off. Now, Discord starts to piss me off with their bullshit. I’m just too tired to move to yet another platform that will start sucking once it’s grown bigger. I hate this “social media” focus on every little fucking thing. This stupid “we are building a community” garbage should die.

Maybe it’s time for me to burn everything down and go live in the woods. I don’t particularly resonate with people anyway.

When I was in school, I bought a Gameboy XPloder for 80 bucks and cheated Mews in Pokemon Red. I sold the Mews to everyone in school for 5 bucks a pop and made back way more than I invested. I don’t care if Nintendo finds out because I was 12 when comitting this heinous crime. As a bonus, I also never taxed those business profits. Checkmate capitalists.

What a shit take lol

AAA does not describe the size of the game, but the size of the brand and publisher.

That would be a good argument if the addicting part were the gameplay rather than the casino MTX store.

Items that have any in-game effect that is not purely cosmetic should not be a part of a “deluxe edition” of a full-priced game. I will die on this hill.

Last game I pre-ordered was Diablo 3. You might know why that was the last time I did that.

Well, at least I learned that javascript understands exponential notation. I never even bothered to try that lol

Not all regions are served with the same scripts. That’s why the ad-block pop-up was shown for some users but not for others or at a later time for others. This also affected the update cycle of those anti-adblock scripts.

The reason for that is quite simple. New stuff is rolled out to only some users at first as some sort of beta testing procedure. If many people complain about functionality issues and all of those have the new version of the script, Google knows there is something wrong with it.

That’s not what Gaben meant.

He is saying that games that were released despite being buggy or unfinished or both will have a permanent stain in the user reception. Basically, updates cannot fix a bad first impression.

It divides the player base and ensures that ingame achievements like world-first DLC dungeon completion or boss kills are invalidated or at least muddied within the community.

Just look at Diablo 4, it had a similar system and all it did was kill the hype. Not that I think D4 would have been a staple without that crap, but it certainly felt like it was damaging the reception even further.

D3 was also a dumpster fire at release, and yet Kripp and Krippi’s co-op run for world first Inferno Diablo HC is legendary. One of the very few positive talking points about that game.

It’s not about reinvesting into the quality of future games, it’s about getting a good financial quarter to please the shareholders. Welcome to infinite growth.

I almost exclusively used reddit on my phone and RIF showed an ad once in a blue moon.

I do have RES installed on my computron’s browser, but RIF was just better.

I respect Pornhub etc. much more than other companies. I think that’s at least partially because I don’t get swarmed by ads from them.

What if you select every category because ads are a stupid timewaste?

Regardless how many times they are telling me that Diablo 4 is “the fastest-selling ARPG ever” and flaunt the phoney 10/10 “review scores”, it’s not gonna change my opinion that the game is dog poop and thoroughly unimpressive. So why inconvenience me by making me load that shitty picture, it won’t make me buy that shit.

I honestly don’t get the point of ads.

About the cookie banners: I heard some time ago that EU wants to force browsers to have an option to automatically decline all non-essential cookies because those banners are pissing everyone off. What’s with that plan, any updates?

That’s wanted by the marketing team tho. Hype creates profit, regardless how shit your product is. There is a reason why the Diablo 4 Facebook ad says “the fastest selling ARPG ever” instead of something tangently related to gameplay. It’s banking on hype sales, product comes second. They need to rake in quick profits to appease their shareholders.

Social media has conditioned people into swarm thinking and instant gratification instead of introspection and reflected decisions. Nobody gives a fuck about long-term consequences anymore. It’s sickening.

For ages, AAA games were classed as such by brand recognition, not by quality. Inevitably, they devolved into being just a platform to sell microtransactions. The shareholders want their dividents and the CEO needs a new yacht with coke and hookers.

It’s too easy to exploit the dopamine rush playing the new, official installment of a well-known series. Even if it’s terrible, the customers get their joy by ranting about how trash the game is and how they hope the next one will be better. BG3 being an actual game does not change anything and will not reset expectations.

That asshole design works on me tho. I misclicked a couple of times and thus “consented” to the tracking. Should be illegal imo.

Discord wants to move away from the #4-digit identifier system because it is an unnecessary hassle for users. The downside is that it means that a username must now be unique. That’s why they’re asking you.

I guess at one point they’ll just force change your username and you’ll have to stick with it or make a new acc.

Fandom “wikis” are unusable on mobile. The text you are trying to fucking read is constantly jumping around because the next shitty ad and autoplay video is loading. Just look at the user experience:

TikTok makes tons of dollaroos with shorts, now Google wants a slice of the pie. “Me too, me too”. It would be funny if it wasn’t so annoying.

I actively avoid products that get shoved in my face with ads and sponsorships. NordVPN, SkillShare, Brilliant, Raid Shadow Legends, fucking whatever can all go to hell. I wanna watch my videos in peace and they annoy me.

My personal AI niche use case: I like to listen to Persian rap. I don’t speak Farsi and I cannot read their script, so I use ChatGPT to romanize the lyrics for me. It does a really good job and there are pretty much no other resources available that do that for you.
