Some what of a tangent on Christmas is that there is the “War on Christmas” narrative. I am always curious about what it is supposed to mean. The Christians that are into it often take capitalism to be good as an axiom the way they do their own faith. Which is at odds with their culture war as capitalist firms are what drive the secularization of Christmas. Would a commercial with Jesus on the cross saying he is thirsty and having a Roman Soldier pass him an ice cold Coca Cola be better?

I find the pod optimization to be a bit more so so now a days. It saves from calling a resupply at the start, but many of the new maps are urban and have more goodies lying around.

still very solid tho

There is also a Thunderbird app now. I think they are doing the maintenance for k9 as well.

I’ve been wanting to checkout xcom for a while, so I might give the openversion a shot, thanks!

Have y’all tried Hollow Knight? It is pure art.

How does the open version compare? Particularly in regard to completeness of features and AI behavior?

What games did you get down with over the holiday weekend?
Hello fellow patient gamers! Bit US centric, but I had the day off for memorial day. I was in the mood to catch up on my steam deck wear and tear with a good round of Civ5 BNW. I have had the long term goal of beating it on deity. Did not get there and the game might be lost due to runaway civ, but slim chance of turtleing down and going for a science victory. Any games that you are still getting use out of while you wait for sales or for something new to drop?

I’ve not joined their discord or other. Thanks for the heads up.

Helldivers 2 is pretty good. Surprisingly not toxic/salty for how big it is.

I guess these dudes want to live a power fantasy through Geralt instead of accepting the natural next step;

I thought this was going to say something about looking inward or something. Like being inspired to be the best self you can.

That’s on me.

Freeciv is basing it gameplay on older game of civilization series like civilization II and Unciv on the newer games like civilization VI.

Any fellow steam deckers playing Halo Wars or MCC?

Not to worry anyone. I am sure the free market will do much better soon. Investors love to put money in risky projects and not wait for the government to tell them what to do after all /s

. I honestly can’t believe they are somehow the best way to do things in groups of people.

Libertarian mythology

The other issue is that civ is never done until the dlc is out too.

Anything tempting you?
Hearing that Civ 7 is going to have Steam Deck support is tempting me.

Is proton entirely FOSS? I do know that they are built on wine, but now that I think about it, I am not sure.

GrapheneOS without Google play got me around 2.5 days of battery easy.

I was surprised when I accidentally clicked on it and saw my profile.

Hollow Knight had me excited for the world like I was a kid. It shows the devs had an artistic vision.

Getting into Civ 6
I got into Civilization rather late with their fifth entry. I was hesitant because as I get older I need more time to game than I do new titles. Still I picked up six with all DLC during the last sale. I have to say I am liking the changes. It was good to wait because Civ does need its DLCs to feel complete. On a side note, it runs quite nice on the Steam Deck (In desktop mode docked)

Simple Mobile alts?
Just wondering what anyone might be moving to after the news broke?
