The whole point of game of thrones was that it was fantasy but very grounded, only having a few magical elements and those were metaphors (dragons are nukes).
Felt really weird to see such magical creatures like a Witcher game from a source material that has wolves but big as one of the mystical creature.
No, one time there was a highly anticipated game that I really wanted.
Walked into the store after checking a couple reviews and bought it full price.
Ask the clerk, he confirmed there is never shortages or anything like that for physical disks.
Imo, there is even less of a reasons to preorder digital copies, what are they gonna do, run out of bandwidth?
As the meme implies, stop and think about how to change tactics.
Uhhh no? Especially if your playing a game that your suppose to try multiple times like hades.
I guess it depends on the game but imo the best boss fights are puzzles (god of war style) where you don’t change tactics, you keep playing until you figure out the puzzle.
Idk if I call that changing tactic, I just keep trying until I figure it out.
Which is why I put “peak” in quotes. They’re more like spikes in capability.
Well I would definitely agree with that, things are not linear.
Right now we live in a time of hidden gems and lacklustre AAA. The actual underlying technology has gotten better, but overall due to increase investor pressure and general focus on safe bets, we get mostly meh content while the great technology and creativity available goes to waste.
I hope the next spike is just around the corner but we are during times of low innovation, so I think the economic drive needs to be there first.
I’m confused. How did the originals peak multiple times? They were all made a few years from each other so imo they all represent one data point.
Do you mean special effects peaked after that? Cause a lot of people don’t like CGI and some would say movie effects actually peaked at terminator 2.
The point would be valid if movies in the 90s looked terrible and then movies now look objectively better than Star Wars (which many would argue that they don’t cause it’s all CGI)
I blame micro transactions, it uses addiction and predatory tactics.
It’s less that making unique games are risky, and more that there are less risky and more lucrative options available.
Couple that with greedy people finally recognizing gaming as another thing to get perpetual growth from and you get what we have today.
I think it’s cause of envy. Every once in a while, a game comes that just seems to do a lot of things and become very very successful (like red dead and gta).
Then these other studios get FOMO and turn to a go big or go home attitude.
So what you end up with is this inflation of features when only a few devs can land a big game like that.
That makes no sense.
He is given a soccer ball to fight with
Okay that makes a tiny bit more sense but still very ridiculous.
