I heard some great things about the game.
Tried it out and didn’t see a point. Everything in the ocean is dangerous and you had no objectives.
So you could just stay on your ship forever.
I like to think I won the game that way
Edit: seems like people didn’t like my attempted to be funny comment about the game unfortunately not being my style. IMO that’s what we should have in gaming though, people going out of their comfort zone and trying many genres. I doubted I would like hades much but it became one of my all time favourites.
I never understood those games.
I understand that their main goal is to tell a story, but then imo there are other mediums for that.
Also, some devs think horror with sneaking is universally fun.
For me, shit like that gives me anxiety and it’s the opposite feeling I want when I game. Why the fuck would want to feel terrified and worried that something is about to catch me?
Having said all that, I still think SOMA is worth trying cause the story is that good.
I really, really wanted to like that game. The lore and atmosphere was right up my alley.
The problem? There wasn’t much game to it, no fighting or anything like that. Mostly just go around trying to avoid things like a horror game.
Having said that, the story was sooo good, years later after giving up the game I read the plot on Wikipedia and holy shit, what an ending.
I see where you’re coming from but idk if I agree.
Gaming has been one of the few consumer hobbies that has improved over the last few decades.
Sure, companies are greedy, but just like music, we are living in a golden age of access, such a huge library is available and no more console exclusives. A steam deck will give you generations of content.
Gaming is also a lot more accepted as an adult now. And honestly, so much of everyone’s time is spent on a phone that it’s pretty easy to replace that with a handheld that goes on standby instantly.
I think your talking about abundance of free time, which yeah I agree adulthood has no mercy for, but ironically gaming is one of the most effective hobbies if you have little time.

Although I really liked cyberpunk and I’ve finished both that and Witcher 3 and cyberpunk is my favourite…
Really? I thought Witcher 3 was iconic, like it broke out of the regular gaming culture and into the mainstream, idk if cyberpunk did that.
My world would be better if Witcher 4 is better than 3 but I have doubts

So I actually read the article, even though there are huge outstanding questions on the nature of ownership, that’s actually not what the court argument is about:
Replying to Ubisoft’s argument that the statute of limitations is up, the plaintiffs responded with their own photos of The Crew’s packaging, which states that the activation code for the game doesn’t expire until 2099; that’s an example of how Ubisoft “implied that [The Crew] would remain playable during this time and long thereafter,”
Well yeah… software as a service is a thing but Ubisoft is straight up lying…
My two cents: no one is expecting online services to be up forever, so imo the correct solution is open source the game after the company meets their 10 (or 20) year obligation which should be clearly pointed out during the initial rental agreement (shouldn’t call it purchase)

The whole point of game of thrones was that it was fantasy but very grounded, only having a few magical elements and those were metaphors (dragons are nukes).
Felt really weird to see such magical creatures like a Witcher game from a source material that has wolves but big as one of the mystical creature.
No, one time there was a highly anticipated game that I really wanted.
Walked into the store after checking a couple reviews and bought it full price.
Ask the clerk, he confirmed there is never shortages or anything like that for physical disks.
Imo, there is even less of a reasons to preorder digital copies, what are they gonna do, run out of bandwidth?
As the meme implies, stop and think about how to change tactics.
Uhhh no? Especially if your playing a game that your suppose to try multiple times like hades.
I guess it depends on the game but imo the best boss fights are puzzles (god of war style) where you don’t change tactics, you keep playing until you figure out the puzzle.
Idk if I call that changing tactic, I just keep trying until I figure it out.
$1000 computer running windows 11?
At these RAM prices?
