That’s awesome, and probably infuriating to Linux purists.

I’m a thread about replacing Windows with Linux on older computers, this is possibly the dumbest question you could have come up with.

My grandma once complained about something wrong with her web browser. She had a generic install of Windows, so was using Internet explorer. I told her she should use Firefox (my cousin was there, and agreed) so she told us to change it.

Installed Firefox, deleted desktop icon of Internet explorer, added desktop icon for Firefox. My grandma couldn’t understand why the little picture was different, didn’t know what to do to get to Facebook, and told us to fix it so it worked again.

So my cousin changed the icon from Firefox to internet explorer. Problem solved.

Linux is a good idea in theory, but someone really needs to put the work in to make it look and work as close as humanly possible to Windows. I don’t have time or patience to be 24-7 tech support for everyone in my family over 60.

I was going to comment this. I think there’s a mode you can use that doesn’t require USB debugging, it just won’t mirror the screen.

I’ve used a few different liquid cooling systems, and I’ve never had a problem with pump noise. I’ve always cranked the pumps up to max and varied the fan speed, because the fans are always louder.

That said, there must be some power savings with this setup.

Perhaps we could get the Hello Games team to push out ME5 in between No Man’s Sky updates?

I have a charging station I use. I don’t want or need another charger.

Also, please stop selling me micro-SD to Full-SD adapters. I have a box of them I already don’t need.

We need to expose the truth that even office workers are exploited, and aren’t part of management just because they wear nicer shoes. I think even a lot of office workers don’t know that.

HOW DID THEY GET THESE PATENTS APPROVED SO FAST???

I have a patent from a previous job. The initial filing was in 2007. It wasn’t approved until 2010, almost a year after I had moved on to a different employer.

My favorite phone was a Sony Xperia Compact. If they still have SD Card slots my next phone will be Sony.

Nope, not playing Card Wars with evil robot Jake.

Not really. It used a series of photos of the lead programmer’s brother(???) Walking, running, jumping etc, which were used to create the character sprites. Very rudimentary. But it worked.

Is it strange that the first Prince of Persia was acclaimed for its realism and use of rudimentary motion capture?

30 years later, we have this.

Samsung was caught disabling phones in Mexico because people were buying phones from other regions where they were cheaper.

I do this with 4 different devices and it just works. I wouldn’t leave the vault file open on any device I’m not actively using though.

Keepass XC (Windows) has a setting “automatically reopen the database when modified externally”. If the file is open and Syncthing updates it from somewhere else, it should open the new file and prompt for the password again.

Pocket Pair even provides you with the server if you want to host on your own computer

REally? I was just thinking this morning about Super Mario Wonder’s online activity, and wondering why that couldn’t be done just between friends without Nintendo’s servers. I remember X-Wing vs. Tie-Fighter had a PvP/co-op play option where one computer would act as the ‘server’, and would coordinate play among a number of remote players. This was back when dial-up was king. Now everything requires a server and a monthly subscription for remote play.

Most of the phones I’m looking at max out at 256 Gb storage, minus whatever the OS uses. My next phone will almost certainly be a Sony because of the SD card slot. I do a lot of RAW photography, and travel in enough places without data service and/or sketchy cell access that large local storage is not negotiable.

Not a custom ROM user, but I assigned mine to activate the camera.

It’s a flight combat sim. You’re on the back of a dragon instead of in a cockpit. You can either blast enemies with your breath, or get close and rake them with your claws. I was on PC at the time, and this runs on DOS, so don’t expect any marvel of technology.

The Link’s Awakening remake on Switch is worth your time. I loved the original, and I loved the remake. I hope they continue bringing their old games forward like this (LA, Mario RPG, etc.)

How long until the next Skyrim release? Todd, you sonovabitch…

But you can’t. Corporations are formed specifically to protect the people behind them from legal accountability. The CEO/ board can really only be punished for crimes against the corporation (embezzling, not trying to make money for shareholders, etc.) Even when the corp. very obviously causes deaths, it will just declare bankruptcy and reform under another name. Johnson & Johnson was sued for killing people because there’s asbestos in talcum powder, so they spun off the talc division into a different company, and then had that company declare bankruptcy.
