That is also an option. Having the google store prevents some weirdness or issues with requirements for certain apps though.

It is important to note that grapheneos has a web version that you just go down the line following the instructions and it will take care of the heavy lifting part of unlocking the bootloader and install. It is probably about as easy as they could make the process. As long as you have the ability to read carefully not do anything stupid when instructed not to, you too could have a privacy focused phone.

You also don’t have to give up the google store if you don’t want to. You can have it reinstalled. What is the difference you may be thinking? Doing it this way sandboxes the store apps preventing them from doing anything you don’t want to while getting the advantages of the play store.

All google knows is that you have the app, not what you do with it unless the app you install goes out of its way to manually report without google services. However, you probably don’t want to use those kinds of apps anyway.

All I am saying is that the transition to better privacy doesn’t have to be bad or immediately. You can take your time.

Every console and handheld from N64 backwards is about 62.67 gigabytes. So definitely. If we add PlayStation 1, it jumps to 643 GB. So still possible, just more expensive.

From what I understand, there is an option to run transcoding servers standalone. So a single gen 5 pcie motherboard could run two alveo ma35d encoder cards and plow through a ton of encodes simultaneously. It wouldn’t be cheap of course, but in terms of running a media server hosting video, it is not impossible. This is the kind of thing in which groups of people working together would be more financially viable than separate.

KSP2 still makes me sad. I still have the hope they can pull a no man’s sky. The dream of KSP2 is all I ever wanted out of a space game.

Don’t forget notes for games, steam workshop, and for those of us open source enthusiasts, making easy/reliable gaming on Linux. It has never been so good being a Linux gamer.

Corporate suicide is so hot right now, all the cool companies are doing it. Are you really even trying if you can’t feel the pain of the bullet in your foot?

The problem with that is that it relies on the idea that people are able/willing to pay and aren’t willing to try something else. Game devs are naturally technical people who are okay with trying new things if their current solution stops being an option. Then there are indie devs who must work cheaply or they will not make anything off their games.

Its a bold strategy cotton, let’s see how it plays out for them.

Fair, but I meant more along the lines of what the everyday user will need. After a certain point, what more do you really need on a phone or standard PC? Sure, servers and supercomputers can always take more, but for the average consumer is it really that useful?

And it will only get better as technology starts to plateau. They will stay relevant for longer.

Outdated hardware isn’t really as important on a phone than it is as a PC. Unless you are gaming on your phone, phone hardware is plenty powerful enough these days for the grand majority of tasks.

The software updates are the biggest concern and they intend to do 10 years of updates. That is more than long enough for this device before it becomes obsolete.

Same here I only do mild stuff like look at computer parts, servers and burglar tools. Damn nosy bastards.

and if you want to play a completely different game from the stanley parable in every way by the same developer, the beginner’s guide is a short story game I would consider a work of art. It definitely is unusual as far as games go and it makes you feel things. It is best played completely blind on information.

II would recommend these:

The Last Guardian: A story game where you are a small boy and you have a giant cat/bird/dog thing you befriend and try to escape the area. You are almost completely reliant on the animal and it is very unique. If you are an animal lover, you will love this game. This is exclusive to the PS4, but still is highly recommended. If you can’t play it, watch a let’s play because it is beautiful in more ways than one.

The Stanley Parable: A comedy game where all of your actions have some sort reaction from the narrator. It is a lot of fun. Other people have listed this and can give a better description.

The Beginner’s Guide: A game from the developer of The Stanley Parable. However, the games could not be more different. This “game” is basically a story told by the developer who narrates about his time with a fellow game developer. It is very good, will make you think and is best played blind. Just keep in mind that this is not a funny game.

Lol, I guess that part didn’t make it through QA. Was there any water near by? That is the only thing that makes it survivable.

Please tell me that instead of telling you that you need the glider, they just launch you and you realize it when you are in free fall.
