Yeah the prologue level they showed looked incredible. I really hope they can give the game all the polish it needs, after so long in development they absolutely need to release something with quality to match.

I suspect performance is a criteria and it is tested but I don’t think the testers play through the full game. I seem to remember Horizon Zero Dawn or something got verified but only the starting area performed well. Could be misremembering the game but it’s definitely happened.

Wasn’t that part of the whole fun message at least of the first game?

Would you kindly…

As a forgetful person this feature is absolutely essential. I put the person’s name and year of birth in the calendar event too.

This is a real shame, I used to buy all my games on GoG and had high hopes for the galaxy 2.0 client. Hopefully they keep going because we need a viable competitor to Steam that isn’t awful.

Completely agree. I’m very excited for the new era of Valve hardware and Linux support. Especially now that they are selling their hardware officially where I live.

Heck yeah, new steam controller and steam OS on more devices! Excited to see what happens with this. Well…as long as it’s not like last time but I don’t think it will be.

Are people playing the multiplayer? I used to play so much deathmatch back in the day, it was so much fun with the gravity gun.

I sense a great disturbance in the economy, as though a million souls suddenly took leave and were suddenly gaming.

I own a switch and a steam deck and I’ve bought my switch games. Nintendo is telling me I’m not allowed to run the games I legally purchased from them on my steam deck. Fuck 'em. Piracy isn’t a new thing, you don’t even need emulation to pirate games on the PC but PC gaming is thriving.

There were quite a lot of people trying it out at Pax here. Hopefully it sells well so we get future hardware in a more timely manner 🤞

Non DRM Steam games also cannot be taken away from you once downloaded. To be fair GoG installers are a lot more accessible though.

For me single player is number one followed by low pressure multiplayer with friends. Can be co op or PvP but the main thing is casual and low stress. Already have enough of that in my real life.

Has anyone told them they can probably use AI to search for opportunities for lawsuits?

I hope they finally launch it officially, it’s been such a long time. I’m mostly hopeful that if they do launch the Steam Deck then they might also launch future hardware as well without such a big delay.

Lol indeed. Well this has been fun, you have a particularly delicious lack of self awareness that I always appreciate in these sorts of discussions so I look forward to seeing your next very helpful and clever contribution in future threads.

Have fun!

I’m not expecting to make any kind of point, I’m just giving you a well deserved ribbing for being an asshole. It’s strictly for entertainment purposes.

If you think the only explanation for someone taking issue with you is they are stupid or don’t understand sarcasm, I really don’t know what to tell you.

As I said before, I admire your confidence even if it is sorely misplaced. If you don’t want to listen to me though there’s this neat button right under my comment there that says ‘block user’ if you don’t wish to read my replies. Just trying to be helpful, of course!

It’s not that I don’t like your tone, I’m always down for a sarcastic quip. What I don’t like is dishonest people. You must think we’re all incredibly stupid if you expect anyone to believe your intent was to help by pointing out the upvote button.

I do admire your confidence, however misplaced, and your commitment to embodying your username though.

I really hope you’re not suggesting that you honestly think someone didn’t know about the upvote button? What a silly thing to imply that your sarcastic comment was supposed to be in some way actually helpful to someone.

You know if you don’t think a comment adds to the discussion there’s a purpose built button for you to express that exact sentiment? It’s right below the one you pointed out in your very helpful diagram.

It is better to buy for the emperor than save for yourself

They tried to replace him one time and the fans lost their shit, leading to a reversal. I remember the outrage, apparently he wasn’t even contacted for the role in Hitman Absolution and had no idea he wouldn’t be voicing it until the trailer came out for it with a different voice actor.

Fans tweeted at him asking why he wouldn’t be doing the voice this time around and he was just like “I have no idea guys, nobody has spoken to me about it at all.”

Oh man, I was going to wishlist it and wait but now I’ll have to buy it on launch week.

EDIT: Sabre Interactive understands that the Emperor’s light shields the faithful, making dark machine rites like Denuvo unnecessary. Such heretical rites only agitate the machine spirits, causing discordant whispers that play into the hands of the enemies of Man. The Omnissiah smiles upon this decision.

Yeah exactly, from my understanding these are some of the most popular and best selling games around so… completely unnecessary

Were there some problems with sales of the previous Civ games or something that necessitate this?

I used to prioritise buying on other storefronts like GoG, but now I just wait for the game to come out on Steam. It’s simply too convenient. The fact that Steam may one day not be so good is not a particularly compelling reason for me, you could apply the same argument to every other storefront equally.

I’m going to use the service that puts money and effort into supporting Linux and provides the most convenience to me.
