Def Jam 2: Fight for NY. It’s basically like some of the older WWF wresling games where there can be 4 fighters at a time, but you can only be targetting one at a time. But all the fighters are rappers. The finishing moves are awesome!
I had that level down so good. It’s the level where Mike really shines since why would you want anyone else to get hurt?
The technodrome was my killer level. There just wasn’t enough room to manouver and you could so easily spawn those flying rock troopers. Ugh.
Maybe someday I’ll go back and actually beat the game after watching a playthrough.
If you want some real nostalgia, there’s a great cover of the music by VomitroN. They cover the entire game but I’ve linked the end credits here.
Contra and Mario were games I had mastered. Contra I could do reliably with 3 lives. When I was in grade 2 I remember starting up Super Mario 1 and selecting 2 players because my friend was over. Beat the game without giving him a chance. The game didn’t even switch to Luigi after saving the princess.
I got a good chucke of of the minireview review for it.
Age of Empires Mobile is a fantastic real-time strategy game… oh, wait. Scrap that. This mobile version of the beloved RTS franchise has nothing to do with the original PC games. The gameplay is different, and the monetization is extremely pay-to-win. Unfortunately.
Didn’t know it was also a Tencent production. Eww
It wasn’t the colour, you would burn little bubbles into the disk. The bubbles would deflect a laser and flat parts would not. This would give the 0 or 1 bits.
There were CD- and CD+ versions. I don’t know which is which but one would create a divot, and the other would create a bubble. Either way the laser is diverted away from the sensor.
Bob - Weird Al Yankovic might be up your alley.
