I was a PS gamer since the PS1. Thousands of hours spent over decades.

I switched to PC (linux) late last year and my PS Plus membership lapsed in April of this year. I won’t be back.

Was it the game, or was it the life you had while playing the game?

Ghost Recon: Wildlands

Really fun to coop in either players’ world to just line up shots and generally wreak havoc.

People from the original title want to capture the essence of buggy Berhesda gaming for future generations!

How thoughtful!

I was wanting Sony (or someone) to port at least Sly and Jak to PC

Same for me on infamous. Come on Sony.

Come on, now…

  1. Grind to gather resources.
  2. Make a potion to fortify intelligence
  3. Make a potion to fortify alchemy
  4. Drink potions
  5. While potions are active, make another set of fortify intelligence and alchemy potions, which - as a result of your potion-enhanced intelligence and alchemy skill - now fortified even stronger and longer.
  6. Repeat steps 3 and 4 a few times to become the smartest god-like being around for an infinite amount of time.

Game-breaking, but I would absolutely do it in real life if I had the option. I want the brains!

Completely agree. BioWare started it’s downward trend when it thought it could cash in on MMORPG billions by creating Star Wars: The Old Republic. Don’t get me wrong, Bioware made awesome games until ~2010. They were bought out by EA in 2007, and that is where we can clearly see that passion was lost. Good games still came out, but they weren’t great.

I will always hold a special spot in my heart for the Elder Scrolls. I’ve played since Daggerfall in the late 90s. I got into Fallout later, but went back and played the originals (except for tactics). A lot of people hate on Skyrim as being janky, but I was there for the original release. Did it have issues? Of course, and it still does. But this was 11 / 11 / 2011 we are talking about. Skyrim was doing things that no one in gaming was doing well, and they told a good story to boot.

The issue that I have with most studios is that they step away from the ideas of furthering or completing a story just because they can’t think of a new gimmic or mechanic to make it hugely profitable. They need those profits to justify the staggering wages paid to the CEO’s. Not to the writers, programmers, or artists.

So Bethesda lost a lot of love when they (like BioWare) attempted to cash in on MMORPGs with Fallout 76.

But BioWare games used to be the top tier gaming company standard for excellence. Bethesda used to release amazingly ambitious titles that were unmatched (albeit buggy!).

Greed outweighs the love of games.

I have spent years trying to find a Super Mario World or Super Mario Galaxy feel to games. I am not looking for photo realistic. I am looking for a game.

Divinity: Original Sin 1 / 2 Dragon Age (any) Baldur’s Gate (any)

Excellent, LONG story if you want them to be. You have a group to adventure with.

In this video:

It looks like the new cartridge will be very similar to the original Switch Cartridge. We can’t confirm for sure, and we can only speculate why.

On all non-steam games added to my library, I always do a quick internet search for “+ steam deck control” to help with the layout. It’s not perfect, but I find a lot of useful info for starters.

The cool thing about the Deck is that you can push the Steam key and update those controller settings on the fly.

I play all my GOG games on the Steam Deck. It takes only a very small amount of tweaking. Additionally, I add them as “non-steam games” in the library, update the artwork and icon, and have a very clean interface.

I play Minecraft on the Deck the same way.

This is the answer. I did the same to a Samsung S21.

I’m with you. I buy almost exclusively on-sale games. I try to buy the super-premium editions about a year after release so I can get lots of content for less than the original game costs, and I avoid any p2w or lootbox games altogether.

Do I miss interactions with some friends who only play the latest titles? Absolutely. I have primarily been a single player gamer anyway, so maybe it just doesn’t impact me as terribly.

Dear Video Game diety Todd Howard,

Please release The Elder Scrolls 6 on PS5.

Bad example on San Andreas. I have it on my PS5. And not the trilogy version.

But then again, I bought the PS4 version before the trilogy was released. So, I pull my opinion. Good example, dangblingus.

I primarily play PS consoles. I prefer the controller. With today’s technology and cross-platform play, I can still keep playing the controller that I like with friends I have developed over the years.

PC will be my way forward as I transition past this generation. I’ve been on Sony since the PS1 (I’m old). Plus, at least I can play the older PS1/2/3 titles on PC without a SUBSCRIPTION.

I’ve platted this game, amd I love it dearly. We need a Wildlands 2. Not Breakpoint.

And then beat GTA V for every cent it could with paling content.

I loved the UMD format. Even when I look at them today, it feels like looking at the cartridge of tomorrow.

This exactly. I don’t want to seem pessimistic, but there have been BILLIONS given to ISPs to ensure internet infrastructure implementation. The only thing that has occurred consistently is ISP CEO’s have gotten pay raises and bonuses.
