Bullshit. That 30% cut pays for all the features that make steam a better store than any other store. Those features are all free for the gamers, because they are essentially paid by the devs in that cut.

If that cut wasn’t worth it, I don’t think Microsoft, ea and others would have come back to steam after trying to make their own stores (and failing).

How can it be a monopoly when I can just download another store with a click of a button? Which I have also done, and even bought games from those said other stores, but the experience was just completely miserable compared to steam, up to the point I’ve considered rebuying those games on Steam.

Yeah the infuriating part is not the mere existence of bedrock, but the fact that they purposefully made it suck. It could have been much better than the java version if they did it right.

Agree. I just wish bedrock was a straight port from the java version instead of being borderline ruined, the only difference should have been better performance from not using java and it being rebuilt from ground up.

Gta V will probably only be truly “finished” for me when gta 6 comes out (assuming that it’s going to be as good of a game). 10 years later I still keep finding new stuff in it. I really hope 6 can live up to it.

Predatory as in they literally employ psychologists to help design them to be as addictive as they can be, then they market it towards kids or at the very least don’t really do anything to prevent kids from gambling in them (yeah it’s also partially a parenting issue but can’t really expect all parents to be tech savvy enough to understand all everything about gaming).

Then there’s the other sucky, but just not sucky enough for it to be an illegal side of things: games that these mechanics suck ass and we are getting less and less objectively good games because more and more games seek to make some quick buck by making their games casinos of sorts.

It’s only as luxurious as being addicted to cocaine in hopes that the next line will hit like the first one, or in game terms, hoping that the next loot box gets you the skin/character/whatever you wanted and releases that quick dopamine rush. Rinse and repeat.

Rockstar has a great track record of their trailers being very close to the final game. Just look at any of their trailers and the final game. There’s not really any reason to believe it will be different this time.

Rockstar has a pretty good track record on their trailers being very close to what the actual game is.

Gta online was fun at first, when it was all about fooling around in the awesome big map with friends, but after that got old, there’s nothing else to do but grind boring missions that all feel the same.

I’m really excited for the single player. I have absolutely zero optimism for online though.

Yeah initially it felt really cool, but got old really fast. It just felt like doing the same thing over and over again.

I love that the pixel extra features are useful instead of stupid gimmicks like some manufacturers have.

Ah, good old clockwork mod. Back when installing a custom rom was simple. Unlock boot loader, flash custom recovery, use recovery to install rom and wipe, done! None of this a/b partition and “you have to be on this specific version of stock rom to Flash this” crap. Those were the days.

A custom rom isn’t the same as rooting though. I’ve used custom roms without rooting them quite a bit, so my answer to op’s question is that no it really isn’t that essential, unless you need some very specific magisk module or something.
