This has as much meaning as the number of people who have watched a movie remake or listed to a cover song. Good media is good media and sometimes an updated version is a benefit even though sometimes they are cash grabs.

I don’t think I’ve ever purchased a remake/remaster for a game I already have, it’s usually the first time I’ve played it.

It’s true, I did play Super Mario All-Stars for SNES.
I feel like the market is 30% remakes or remasters right now.
