How many kids are going to have their vision fucked up this time?

Ok buddy

I can get lost and then spend time “progressing” only to find the way blocked and having to backtrack

You mean you GET to backtrack

I don’t understand what a lot of those activities have to do with toll booths

The drinking animation needs a lot of work, or just skip it and have it be instantaneous with a gulp sound

The woman’s head getting bigger from the drink is bizarre and disturbing

The woman spewing liquid out from her mouth doesn’t look great

Nah they love violence. It keeps the gravy seals as hapless betas.

Sorry, just frustrated to see the same assumption every generation, after ever generation sees massive change. In retrospect, it’s probably new people making the same assumption, not the same people.

SNES was top loading with receding flaps. NES was front loading with a flap cover.

Must I point out all of the changes, or can you do some critical thinking before you argue?

No shit.

Every 5 years, chodes expect each new Nintendo console to be a copy + paste of the previous one.

It’s never happened.

Start with HL2 on normal difficulty. Then do 2E1 and 2E2 on normal difficulty.

Then repeat all of that on hard.

Then you’ll be where I am. Never bothered with 1.

I assume one OLED for the family and then a portable per person

Stop. Don’t buy anything yet.

What do you mean “one portable”? Do you mean a non-OLED Switch? Do you mean a Switch Lite? Do you mean a pair of Joy-Cons? Do you mean a single Joy-Con?

My family has 3 Switches. I bought a launch system, my wife bought another of that type, gave it to our kid, then bought an OLED for herself.

So, you don’t need more Switches than the number of people (unless you’re planning to host Animal Crossing treasure islands, which, you’re probably not).

We had a Switch Lite, but it was redundant since we each had a regular/OLED, so we sold it.

Why not just start with one and go from there? Get the OLED if you’re planning to primarily play handheld, or if faster loading times are super important to you.

I felt the first Mass Effect was cozier than the sequels, though I never finished the sequels.

Just go back to using the Reach engine

“Catch creatures to use to fight” is a broad enough theme that it should be fair use, and has other precedent. For example, it was done in Bomberman Generation. Why didn’t Nintendo sue Konami?

2 is the only one I completed. I enjoyed it.

The graphical shortcomings might have something to do with there being 100 players in the match at once.

This chapter/season added jetpacks, which are very fun.

Spear of Destiny or Rise of the Triad would have been better picks

If you’re open to silly casual games, Untitled Goose Game

Also, I heard Cult of the Lamb was getting a co-op update

What did CoD 4 introduce that Halo 3 hadn’t already done 2 months prior?

If you want to talk about “how do I get up there” in a 3d environment, Doom did it before TR.

Low effort? OP doesn’t say anything about what they dislike.

Skyrim
Mario Galaxy 2
Animal Crossing New Horizons
I changed my mind. ACNH wouldn’t be as fun with no multiplayer. I’ll say Fire Emblem Three Houses instead.

Stardew has no dual wielding… only one type of attack per weapon. There are bombs, sure.

Compared to Skyrim though?

Asking you to clarify your argument is not me making my own. That’s a straw man fallacy.

Also Skyrim’s combat is much better than Stardew Valley’s…

You can’t think of a game with non-clunky combat, and you still mark Skyrim down for it?

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is not real life. Having Valkyrie assume a leadership position is not to claim that happened in real life. It’s a work of fiction. The MCU can make its own rules.

Love & Thunder had its issues. Representation (over or under) was not one of them.

I like when media have diversity.

Take Black Panther for example… a movie where the lead roles were inevitably going to be dominated by black actors, and they still managed to put white guys in a couple decent-sized roles. The diversity made that movie more accessible to a wider audience.

I once had a coworker who said to me “all white people look the same,” and while I don’t share his sentiment, it’s important that characters are distinguishable to a wide audience. Including a variety of races is like the easiest way to ensure characters are distinguishable.

There are still good AAA games. The trick is to wait for reviews with gameplay videos and only buy the good ones.

What games have the best mining/smelting/forging components?
I love these mechanics. Manually controlling a player character to run around a world doing these things is great for immersion. I've already played Skyrim and My Time at Portia.
