I never update until there are a few months of other people using it to get feedback. did they fuck up anything major? anything irritating?

I barely noticed any change from 14. They changed the UI style slightly, especially in the settings menu, but nothing that really affects anything.

Yeah. I wouldn’t have noticed the upgrade if it wasn’t for the posts about it.

The weird quick tiles changes are annoying, I guess, but I barely use those.

I’m not sure, I haven’t noticed any changes from android 14 I think.

Long pressing the Bluetooth tile used to turn off Bluetooth, now it opens the list of devices.

They just changed the DND tile to be a “mode” tile, so it’s harder to turn DND on.

long pressing on the Bluetooth icon has always opened the Bluetooth menu. prior to Android 14, tapping on the Bluetooth icon would turn it on and off instead of opening the list of devices pop-up like it does now, which is annoying as shit, but that started with Android 14

what did they change about the settings

It just looks different. It’s more of a list of tiles now than a list of rows, if that makes sense.

I’ve noticed lately that I have to tick a “I trust this app” check box and hit “Accept” in order for the password manager to auto-fill my timesheet app. Why add two extra clicks, with no ability to permanently say “I trust this fucking app, you bastards”…

So they can add the always trust (until next full moon) on A16…

what VPN do you have? and you have “always on VPN” switched on in your phone settings?

I’ve tried the official WireGuard app and WG Tunnel, enabling unrestricted battery use, always on VPN, allowing notifications, etc. But since I upgraded to LineageOS 22.1, the app is always killed overnight.

Did you expect it to ever get better? Best google can do is kill background apps without your permission.

Whenever there’s a minor update of any kind, they tell me about something pointless that they’ve added Gemini too, but it’s mostly fine and I’ve always been able to turn it off or ignore it. I haven’t noticed any major issues with it.
