If you want to keep using the automatic space setting, set it to insert on suggestions and punctuation. That setting automatically moves the space from after the word to after the punctuation.

I believe one person acts as the host. That’s why sometimes it’ll kick you out of a session and start loading again, that means the host has left and someone else needs to take over.

they promised Windows 10 would be the “last Windows,” too.

Iirc, they didn’t. There was one person who didn’t really have the authority to make such claims say something that could have been understood as win 10 is the last windows.

I hate to defend Microsoft, they’re an awful company, but this just was never really true.

There is a nearly zero percent chance that the game developers are also cloud experts

Well yeah, that’s why you would put some cloud experts on the project besides the game devs if you’re doing things like this. It’s not just game developers working on the game.

Doesn’t even have to be people feom the Azure team. Microsoft has plenty of resources to teach someone to be a cloud expert in other branches, they even offer certifications for outside people, surely they can manage a few of their own.

App sandboxing/cloning solutions for multiple accounts
I'm looking for a good solution to clone/sandbox an app, so I can use it with multiple accounts. I recently got a separate phone number, and also a whatsapp account, for work-related stuff. Turns out whatsapp's own account switching thing is very unreliable and often doesn't deliver any notifications for the "inactive" account. I remember using Island a long time ago, but unfortunately that one hasn't been updated in 3 years. I'm using parallel space right now, which at least delivers my notifications, but often super late and includes ads, which also isn't ideal. Are there any good cloning solutions left, preferably with decently quick notifications? (open source would also be a big plus ofc)

Yeah iirc WhatsApp does show a warning when you first set it up with an unlocked bootloader, but you can just continue anyway.

Yeah it is possible, GrapheneOS flashes their own verified boot key when you install it. This also means you have to reset these keys if you want to go back to stock.

I’m not sure why lineageos doesn’t do this, might just be a lot of work for all the devices they support. GrapheneOS only has to support the last couple of pixels after all.

That’s gotta be a Nokia thing. I’ve been listening to music with do not disturb on when sleeping for years, never been an issue on samsung, oneplus, huawei, or pixel phones I’ve had.

Yeah, I feel like most of the updates lately have been pretty boring. The last “big” change was material 3 I think, but even that was just some visual changes.

They still have the dessert names, they just don’t use them in their marketing. This one is called vanilla ice cream, android 14 was upside down cake or something iirc, 13 was tiramisu.

10-12 don’t seem to have dessert names for some reason though. Those were just q, r, and s.

The only one i still have issues with is going from xbox to nintendo controllers, because they use the same abxy face buttons, but they switched them around.

I like what switch games do when you’re using a single joy-con, they just show a button with an arrow pointing to which direction the button is, so what’s printed on the button doesn’t matter at all.

I think the gyro and layout of the switch pro controller are good, but it just feels so cheap, and the buttons are way too mushy. Also doesn’t have analogue triggers. The d-pad is pretty terrible as well.

Overall not a great controller imo.

What does that even mean? What PC? What were the specs? Do they mean a PC with similar specs to an Xbox? The article doesn’t explain any of this.

Oh yeah, totally forgot about that project! Hmm well might have to start over again then :)

Are you downloading from several mirrors at the same time? In that case it could be faster because the individual mirrors have a lower bandwidth than you have.

Wonder if google would do something like this, but I would guess they download everything from the same server local to you, so I don’t think it should have any effect really.

But what’s the point? Now you’re downloading 2 apps both at half the speed, instead of one at full speed. You still have the same bandwidth limits.

I also loved this game on the 3DS. I’ve recently been playing the N64 version as well, and I gotta say the 3DS version is so much better. I’m not sure what it is, but movement feels a lot less precise to me in the N64 version. I have some replays of me trying, and failing, to break a pot with my sword as adult link, like 8 times before finally hitting it.

Also, I finally understand why everyone hates the water temple. The iron boots aren’t an item in this version, so you have to go to the equipment menu every time you want to put them on/take them off.

Single-player console games being 30fps is not new by any stretch

Yeah I know, that’s why I never really got into console gaming unfortunately. As I said elsewhere, I genuinely have trouble making out objects while looking around in first-person games, if it’s running at 30fps.

Didn’t know about the current gen having performance settings, that’s pretty neat. Might actually consider getting one if I can actually run games at a reasonable framerate on them with a lower quality setting.

I’m personally not a huge fan of the ones in the power button, they never worked very reliably in my experience. Even worse than the under-screen ones usually.

I’d love to see phones with a fingerprint sensor on the back though. Granted I have pretty big hands and could easily reach it. Always worked reliably for me, and on my oneplus 5t i could even set actions to swipes on the fingerprint sensor.

Yeah but on PC you usually get graphics settings you can tune to whatever you like. I’d personally rather have a slightly worse looking game running at 60+fps, than a beautiful one at 30.

I’d say 60+fps is especially necessary for first-person games. I seriously have issues making out objects and other things when looking around first-person at 30fps.

The people that keep saying that should really just try to use a 144+hz monitor for a while. Surely they’ll be able to notice the difference as well.

It says they support payments with the device, but if it doesn’t run android, so also no google wallet, did they actually develop their own payments platform?

Streaming is still cheaper than cable

That really depends on where you live. With my current provider here in the Netherlands, I would be paying 12.50 euros extra for TV.

Netflix standard is already more expensive than that at 13.99.

hmm that’s weird.

i was wondering what’s up with that, so i took a look at the source code of aurora, and it seems they don’t even call the requireUserAction thing that’s supposed to disable the prompt. As far as I can tell it should just always require the prompt the way the app is built now. Wonder why it doesn’t do it for me then.

It’s not. I am on GrapheneOS though, also Android 14, but I don’t think that should make a difference here.

Maybe the flavour of Android you’re running decided to do things a bit differently? I honestly don’t know

If you mean unattended, they already do since Android 12.

Apps do need to implement the functionality manually, but it seems pretty simple.

Looks like Aurora already has, it just updated Discord for me while my phone was off.

Yeah, the only thing I’ve ever seen is the MOK management thingy your bios will throw you into if something wants to add a new key, but iirc that can only list the key you’re about to add, not all of them. I also have no idea how you get to that menu without adding a new key.

Some people might want this, I just don’t get why this has to be built in to the browser, instead of an official add-on.

Especially considering it looks like they just embedded the chatgpt website in an embedded window.

Also, Android shows a notification when you install an app remotely. So you’d instantly know something’s up anyway.

Could you not already do that? My previous bank had their own nfc payments bullshit, but I’ve always been able to set that as my default.

This is more of a workaround than a fix, but you can change the default USB configuration in the developer settings.
