How is that fortunate though?
THQ Nordic, the company which became Embracer, bought Piranha Bytes, shuttered the studio when they fucked up, and is now using their IP for a remake?
I’m interested. If it is 1:1 I’ll definitely give it a try. It’s always been a game that I almost get to, but just don’t, and I think this will bump it up the list

I played it multiple times back in the day. This year I played the switch version. The only thing missing there is the In Extremo show.
The interactivity and freedom of the world is still something you don’t see very often to this day. NPCs actually having daily routines, eating, sleeping, working and reacting to your behaviour and clothes. There is a concert in the original game that you miss if you aren’t in the right place at the right time. I also hope you can still walk everywhere right from the beginning, even the orc stronghold where you’re getting killed immediately if you are on a low level.
This sounds like a really good time, I’ll have to give it a go when I finally get situated somewhere
The trailer has the vibe of a historical documentary about the daily life of peasents in the middle ages that you watch on substitute teacher days.
This looks much better than the last trailer, I appreciate how so many of the animations are clearly inspired by the janky but charming original ones. My biggest complaint from the Teaser was the overly talkative player character. Don’t turn the Nameless Hero into your bog standard “must comment on literally everything that happens” character so many modern games have.
Gothic 2 is still my all-time favorite game, so I was anxiously waiting for them to show this. So far, it’s looking incredibly good
