It’s quite a lot more than that if you count all the titles that work but aren’t verified, I imagine!

My favourite journalistic practice is when outlets lump up everyone playing video games into a single group called “gamers.”

I don’t think anyone would’ve complained if the localization’s quality was on-par with AA or Vagrant Story, but it looks to me like that isn’t the case.

What makes an anticheat a rootkit? Rootkits are malicious and don’t generally come with EULAs and uninstallers.

The Arc cards are the most price efficient graphics cards now, that’s hardly garbage.

Some fighting games let you filter games by connection and even connection type (wifi warriors you should be ashamed), but the primary matchmaking is skill based, and that still seems to work.

Some games don’t sell well but go on to become cult classics, so if it was just bad timing maybe Immortals of Aveum will too.

A game that receives updates in a regular manner. There is an expectation that players support these updates by buying things, and to encourage this live service games tend to have things that try to be habit-forming or are available for limited periods of time, such as battlepasses.

The cunning thing is that the preview doesn’t really change the random boxes. You still don’t know what’s in the next one.

When I was playing it MHW would run a constant CRC check over some parts of memory that degraded performance considerably. Did they remove that? If not it’ll probably use up battery power like crazy too.

This is unfortunately a lot less impressive than it looks, since it’s wheeled and not bipedal.

I understand Nexon, and F2P, and all that, but having played this in Closed Beta I found it to be a really enjoyable game. Hopefully they don’t mar it with overaggressive monetization.

The DRM was added right as the game’s 72-hour early access period started, which is included as part of Lies of P‘s Deluxe Edition.

The actual work done to integrate Denuvo was far before release, of course, but it feels a bit sneaky to disclose the DRM as late as possible. I wonder if this is how it’s disclosed for other games as well.

I have found it impossible to climb above Iron 2 because of smurfs, bots and powerlevellers inting their accounts deliberately so that they can resell them.

If this is the case, then how does this happen?

they’re lucrative for YouTube content creators because they use them to do ‘Iron to Grandmaster’ series.

This seems like a reasonable approach but the smurfs have already ruined all the games prior to being banned. I wonder how difficult it is to prevent smurfing altogether? Doesn’t seem like it’d be easy at all.

The upscaler is trained on higher resolution data and so it can more accurately depict subpixel and temporal information which is lost at native. DLSS can produce more detail than native in those cases.

Having owned the Mi 9, I greatly dislike Xiaomi’s OS, and unlocking the bootloader requires at least a two week wait.
