i mean you can just buy a Dell laptop with a copy of Ubuntu preloaded instead, they sell those as an option with most models

i mean it’s annoying but how is it disgusting?
it just shows recently opened files/software mixed in with stuff you open frequently, it’s not an ad section or anything.
but yeah i have disabled it on all my machines, because I’m not using it + disabling it adds two extra rows of pinned apps…

that will prevent you from using any features that use gog galaxy stuff tho. achievements, updates, friends, networking etc

but actually having a thing you can ask highly contextual stuff like “oh where the fuck did i see that thing i need for a quest now” sounds super nice, no need to resort to scrubbing through playthroughs while trying to reconstruct a path there

idk my a52s’s underscreen sensor is pretty reliable.
it never failed on me, except when i was holding my finger in the wrong place (like only half of the finger on the sensor etc, and even then it allows for a surprising amount of leeway (like i was able to unlock it with 60% of my finger being off-sensor a couple of times), sometimes just requiring your to hold a finger for a bit longer)

the starforce driver sometimes prevented some exotic cd drives from working or caused bsods while playing audio cds, but the cases were relatively rare

nvm i didn’t realize they were talking about a different kind of drm

what about making actual authoritative servers?
that would break most cheats except *-bots

also there’s usually no need to replicate the entire game state on all clients, some details like movements of players out of view can be omitted (ofc this doesn’t apply to lol but whatever)

I’ve never had any issues with EAC, it’s probably one of the least invasive kernel-level anticheats out there (with vanguard being the most invasive)

devs can assign keys to specific promotions, and mass recall unactivated keys and activated games from people’s accounts, so yeah this is possible even though needs to be done manually, but most devs don’t do it

to be fair, the free “review” keys often end up on websites like g2a and kinguin, so if I were to publish a game on Steam, I would’ve replied with the same thing to anyone asking me for 'em… the guy’s based af

actually url/uri spec is surprisingly complex, I’m not even sure it’s possible to fully/correctly match it with regex without false positives or negatives, especially in twitters case where even things like “google.com” are accepted as valid urls (without the protocol part, which is otherwise mandatory)

it’s not as big of an issue as on matrix.
stuff can desync and the server has to decide which state is canonical, dropping out some messages

irc is booring and dated

(even though it’s much more robust than matrix and does not suffer from desyncs and stuff)

you physically cannot do it, the option is just ignored unless you have enterprise. best you can do is block by ip

vrr and tpm passkeys are also missing which is a bummer since i recently started using both and already used to them

the taskbar still broken and unusable.
icons straight up disappear when you switch virtual desktops using the touchpad, tray icons sometimes don’t show up, messing with some things can cause an explorer crash

you should NEVER use “builds” like that.
All you need is available via GPO, also you MUST use Enterprise edition in order to turn the telemetry down to “Security”, all other builds can only go down to “Required”

actually if you want a customizable keyboard, Samsung one probably has no competition
but then it’s proprietary and the default english spell checker uses grammarly, which is widely considered a keylogger…

I’m talking about features available to server software, not addons.

bedrock servers can use custom 3d models natively, build fully custom native uis (instead of relying on chests) and reconnect players to other servers without resorting to terrible hacks like on the java edition
also bedrock server software itself is objectively much more efficient, there’s no point of even comparing it to the java server software, even unofficial servers like papermc.

It’s the main reason why cubecraft’s CTF mode is severely limited on the java edition, they basically crippled it just to allow the server to keep up

yes, the marketplace sucks ass but my point still stands.

???
this has nothing to do with my comment

actually bedrock servers are way more capable, bedrock has proper reconnect packets, custom ui frameworks (i.e. servers can do proper themed guis that look fucking awesome instead of relying on chests) and custom 3d models.

you don’t need to sign in, you can just sideload the appx package (it’s likely to fail due to license verification, there are ways around it tho, like stopping the licensing service)

Minecraft for windows is the old name for bedrock.
it was based on the same MCPE codebase

they srill advertise java for modding even though there’s no “official” support tho

opt out was already possible with the old system, and most devs didn’t opt out

you can top up your steam account with cash directly at any payment terminal

well ryu do monetize their work and haven’t been sued… yet.

well the limitation was against republishing the ea-branded versions. there’s nothing stopping you from doing whatever you want with the regular source tree and all the code is there, even if some of it is not merged…

some form of monetization is pretty much required (due to the hardware required to reverse engineer) and I’m really fond of the yuzu’s and skyline’s “early access” model (since it doesn’t actually paywall anything, and keeps the project fully open)

well they’re not completely proprietary…
ea is just latest master, merged with unspecified list of work-in-progress prs, and built together with custom branding.
there’s zero proprietary code in it…
but you don’t know what code specifically was used to build it.

Fortnite? it’s a coop zombie shooter base building game, how tf is it an alternative to roblox
