I don’t know what’s worse. The fact that this will definitely still require a Facebook account to use. Or the fact that it will also require a Microsoft one too

Physically, the only game which is missing is Mirage. Shadows is “next gen” only. Freedom Cry is digital only. And while they are not shown I do own Bloodlines and Liberation on my Vita.

Yet, no. I’ve played most of them. AC1 and 2 are so far my fav. Black Flag is in it’s own category. Skipped Brotherhood and Revelations. I tried AC3 but gave up on it. Didn’t play Rouge, Chronicles or Valhalla. Unity sucks. Syndicate is OK, Origins is good so far, Odyssey is fine, but a slog.

Syndicate isn’t that bad… if you ignore Jacob. Odyssey is just beautiful, and the combat isn’t bad if you drop the difficulty down to a reasonable level.

Trying Origins now and I am liking it. Though I understand where you are coming from Odyssey and Origins would be better games if the RPG elements were gone.

I saw it, I asked why. Then I saw it’s price and compared it to eBay. It was honestly a steal of a deal to get Chronicles.

If you plan on modding the 360 is a good option. But if you not I’d recommend the XBone. Moderns controllers work for it, plus they can be used for PC gaming.

The 360 hasn’t aged well in my opinion and most games you’d want to play will be backwards compatible on the XBone.

So a while back, I wanted to play Conkere bad furday. After doing some math I worked out that it was cheaper to get an Xbox One and Rare Replay, than the original game. But now that I have Conkers, and a new box. I thought to myself. Hey isn’t this backwards compatible with 360. Which it was. But this lead me to another thought. Why deal with Ubisoft BS on PCs and their Client. Where older games force you to sign in to play them. When I could just have them on one box. Which eventually lead me to acquiring this small collection. Total price is $155.88 CAD (before tax) and I know I overpaid for some of the later games. But it’s all on one system with no Uplay BS in my face. Ac1 - $3 AC2 - $4 ACB - $8 ACRe - $8 AC3 - $12 ACB - $7 ACRo - $15 ACU - $10 ($7 more than i think should costs) ACS - $13 ACC - $18 (shocked with this one) ACOr - $20 (could’ve got it for $10 but got it on impulse) ACOd - $20 ACV - $30 (again $10 over used)

Played (and finished) Call of Duty WWII Single Player. I have mixed feelings.
On a note, Humble Bundle is amazing when you got loads of games at once. Owned this for years before I was in the mood to play it. Call of Duty hasn't excited me since Blops back on the PS3. I was never into single player, and my attempt during Blops and Call of Duty 3 left me not wanting to play more. However I was really in the mood for a WW2 shooter after my visit to a local war museum, so I thought. Hey why not. I had no expectations going in other than I wanted to play a WW2 shooter. Starting the game up for the first time, I was impressed with the graphics and visuals. Aesthetically the game is toeing the line between realistic, and video gamey. Like on a wide shot of troops, it could be mistaken for real. Then when you see one of the handful of main characters it's like; "oh yeah, it's a game". However functionally the first thing I ran into was the game bugs. This game came out in 2017, almost 8 years ago now. However I never realized how bad the "release now fix later" mentality was. The game endlessly crashed, and would need constant validation to work. I don't know if it's because of my rural broadband connection loosing packets. Or because the game corrupts itself. Maybe it was a Proton thing. But almost every mission I had to validate the game files for it to work. When the game worked, though I had a good time. Shooting baddies was satisfying. The aesthetics mixed in with the gameplay was exactly what I was looking for. And the game had good variety. Though the game lost it's polish outside of the main game loop. That one flying section was awkward, same with the tanks and while the stealth sections aren't mandatory, it felt like it was. The only other thing which didn't work for me was the story. Yea it's a work of fiction, and over the top all the time. I could suspend my disbelief and enjoy the action. Right up to the mid way point when the game pauses for long sections of time to focus on the stories "drama". This drama was there from the beginning, but I felt it was more subtle, or maybe tolerable compared to closer the end. There's also a b-plot about the protagonist's brother which was extremely predictable which I actually eye rolled when I saw it's conclusion. With that said, I liked the epilogue, I liked the shooting, the level designs were great, and the overall story was good. I just think if you are in the mood to play some WW2 shooters that you should probably pickup an older title before this one. However if you do find this game on a discount or already in your library, I did enjoy my time with it. So if you are in the mood. It may be worth picking up.

I vote for the next game, black is sacked because of this. Or we can sacrifice him to the centaurs for it.

Just finished Hogwarts Legacy, it was enjoyable but could’ve been better.
Before I deep dive into my option about a game. I just want to preface that while some people believe that we should be forced into whichever house the sorting hat puts us in. We all can choose which house we feel we belong in. Like Harry in the first book, and in the movies and in this game So please keep this in mind since we are talking about a game here. I've been playing the Harry Potter games since the PS1 and absolutely love the Zelda inspired games for the system and the RPG's for the GameBoy Color. PS1 Hagrid an all. When the games moved to the PS2 they were better, but never felt as polished and often times felt short. Where I lost interest was the DS game for Goblet of Fire and the Trophy folder games on PS3. I saw my sister play them, but even she just sticks with the early PS1 and 2 games. So while I've not played them in a while I can say I've seen Hogwarts from when consoles could first render it. To when it could render it well. I know I've been in the future for a while now. But the little kid inside of me never realized it until I was walking from Hogwarts Castle into Hogsmeade and I looked back upon Hogwarts castle. I was breath taking and beautiful. A sight I'd never thought I would ever see in my life, outside of recreations in theme parks or fan videos. And I think that's a perfect way to describe this game, it is absolutely beautiful. Details are everywhere and a lot of attention was given to everything you will look at. Whether it's Hogwarts or Hogsmeade, a Dragon Fighting Tent or the Forbidden Forest. The game is a visual feast especially for long time fans of the series. However to get to that point, you'd need to get through some of the more... unpolished aspects of the game. Combat. Now combat in Hogwarts Legacy isn't bad, but I wouldn't call it good. Works well enough for the job it's suppose to do. But for the uninitiated, especially if you don't know what a Dark Souls is. It can be a challenge. Combat is effectively color coated spell attacks, dogging and parrying. Combo each and you have a fun system. Problem is, when every game was just mash buttons to win and you have many many non-gamers struggle to get past the tutorial. Myself included (even with my gamer cred). I eventually learned, but the reward wasn't satisfying. More enemies all looking similar with very little in the ways of weaknesses. By the second trial I just turned the difficulty down to easy and left it there for the rest of the game. Honestly it's probably the most fun when you set it to story only mode. Since where the game wants you to be in the most is in the exportation of the open world... barf. Open World in video games is a fun idea. But for a story driven game like this... I just gets in the way. Don't get me wrong it's neat, but not a game where you are a student at school... which is where you are suppose to spend your time. Not in each and every hamlet around the castle and beyond. And your reward for exploration... rare items and gear. I get it, but this isn't what I was hoping for in a Harry Potter game. I want a linear story, and that's here, but where I spend time at the school and maybe sneak out from time to time. Not all the time. Actually I don't think I've been to classes since the beginning of the year. Honestly where Hogwarts Legacy could've improved was if it looked in the past, and borrow from it's contemporaries. I am imagining a RPG style game, like the GBC harry potter games, with items purchased from a shop and all that. But with the Persona social aspects. Keep combat the way it is for those who like it, but toning down the difficulty doesn't need to ruin the parts of the experience. I think it would work and I'd probably buy it, and if no one makes it, I would... when I have time to make games again. In hind sight though, despite there being potential to be a better game. What is here isn't bad. In contrast with previous games, this is the best Harry Potter game I've played. There's lots to do and to see. And while I am not a fan of the combat, I wont say that it's bad. Overall I do hope Avalanche games has another opportunity to make a new game, and WB Games lets them spread their wings.

With endless replay. Rollercoaster Tycoon 1&2. Shout out to Open RCT (sim city 3000 is a close second)

Console favourite- The Legend of Zelda Links Awakening

Sound track - Chrono Trigger

That long play (where you forget what you were doing if you put the game down) - Metroid Fusion/Prime

Pokemon - Emerald or Soul Silver depending on my mood.

I can take Youngblood for xbone. Got the system for Conkers but wouldn’t mind a wolf game on there

From a quick search it doesn’t seem too difficult to do… if you have a USB, and a working Xbox 360

They even provide steps to do it

You get 1 ups at the fruit machine at the end of the levels. Otherwise they are very very well hidden in certain levels.

At least on the PS1 game they were a Pac-Man sprite that was slightly transparent

Nope, but if you resub you’ll get the games back.

Honestly I like the convenience and not having to mess around with fan patches and mods to just get the game to run well. Especially on Linux running these versions of the games is painless.

Ummm… no. Outside of the Ikea DLC for Sims 2, they include all the DLC with the price.

Love me the original games, just nice to have a stable way to play them. Added bonus both games works well on Linux via Proton. Available on both Origin, and Steam.

One answer is quite simple. Not to sell loot boxes.

I mean counter strike and team fortress 2 worked fine and were extremely fun games before they added a virtual slot machine to their games. “they’re just skins” right? If they were given out for free in game it wouldn’t impact the rest of the games experience.

Valve can also prevent the sale of real world money for these items. Especially if it’s been flagged for Gambling.

Or as another stated disable or moderate the usage of their own API on these gambling sites.

The way I see it, they are the lesser of two evils. Just because someone isn’t as bad a Microsoft, doesn’t mean that they are forgiven for their sins.

Predatory lootboxes, and not cracking down on CSGO Gambling site are the biggest sins which Valve has committed.

Going beyond that, no clear path forward for when the Steam DRM Client goes offline. I personally have games which I bought on legacy hardware, that no longer runs on that hardware since Steam discontinued support for it. I don’t expect Valve to support all hardware indefinitely, however I can buy the same game from GOG, and install it on my XP and Win 7 machines without issue.

I am certain that there are other issues, and compared to MS they look like a saint. But for me I diversify my game library and get as much of my games DRM Free or on a platform which has a proven track record for supporting not just their current purchases but also legacy ones.

Beat Sony with a stick all you want. Despite the PSP being 21 years old this year, if I can connect my PSP to the internet, I can still download my digital PSP PSM and PS1 games.

BluRay is just a data format. PS3 games are just encrypted, which means with a modded PS3 you can back it up.

Same process in order to play it on RCPS3

PS2/PS1 throw it into a DVD player Ron a PC and rip it.

PS3 you’d need to homebrew it. Same process to get the files ready to play on RCPS3

This is a game from 2007, I doubt there are new/replacement discs. That said it appears to be functional so we’ll see.

While for the most part this kind of damage is fine (this game is playable), it's questionable for how much longer. If you have the hardware or the capability, always remember to back up your physical games.

While I can see why there’s a lot of doubt I can see one reason they would.

For years now Apple has been moving things in house, like moving from Intel to their own designs and chips. And moving away from Snapdragon to their own modems.

If they wanted to buy intel it would be for their fab capabilities to reduce their reliance on TSMC.

Do I think they will… probably not, but as I said, I can see why they would.

So if I download a pirate copy, I’m in the clear because I purchased a license.

Nope since the copy of the software was obtained with someone else’s license. That said this would be hypothetically impossible to prove in court so 🤷

Circumventing DRM is questionable since I think it’s illegal to distribute but not own. So let’s say you have a CD installer for the Sims and download a crack exe to launch it without the CD. You are in the clear but the host for the download is not.

GOG or backing the game up yourself is the only way around this.

Pepper Grinder (Steam/GOG/Switch/PS4/PS5/XB/ONE/S/X)

Released in March of the is year (and in August for non switch consoles) Pepper Grinder is a traditional 2D platformer with a world map, levels, and a gimmick of using a drill to travel underground like a dolphin through water.

Its platforming has a good rhythm to it, with a nice momentum when you go in and out of the dirt. The best way I can describe the game is that it feels like a Mario Gimmick level that’s been expanded to its own game.

If I had any complaints about this game, is that the boss fights are a bit too tedious. Not impossible as I’ve been able to beat them. But requires a bit more precise movement than the levels which preceded it.

Overall though, I haven’t played a 2d platformed in ages which I’ve actually wanted to go through in ages. And it is a welcomed addition to my gaming library.

Depends on usage. If I have 2 hands available Firefox, u lock Origin is a must on a modern web. But if I need one hand free for… let’s say holding an umbrella, then cromite, based on the chrome fork based off of bromite. As much as I don’t like chrome, on Android it’s the only browser that has gestures, which makes one handed usage perfect. Cromite, just has adblockers built int and lacks many of the tracking stuff too.

This is the Ultimate HD version on Vita, and man it has been my goto for just relaxing strategy games. I just wished it explained the controller better, like pressing Square to drop bombs if you have 5 gems. It's available on Steam and I can only image how good it'll be on a Steam Deck, as the game was fantastic on the Vita and PSP.

DuckTales or DuckTales 2 for the NES playable in the Disney afternoon collection. TBH most of the games there should be your jam based on Shovel Knights influence.

Hollow Knight based though, Guacemelee is good, not sure about its sequel. Axiomverge too. But they are metroid like games so Super Metroid and Metroid Fusion would be another recommendation.

For the first time in over 10 years. LBP Vita. Wanted to record it and just got sucked back in.

Also playing LBP PSP but not getting as sucked in

The Spyro Trilogy. All 3 games are brilliant and technological standouts for the era and has held up very well over the years.

But if we are going weird. Harry Potter 1 + 2 for GBC or PlayStation. They aren’t good games, they are watered down clones of Pokemon and 3d Zelda respectively. But the theming and genera is such a perfect fit that I love them to this day. Plus the Jeremy Soule soundtrack is fantastic.

I miss Pebble. ePaper Display, week long battery life, and I can see all my phones notifications and reply to texts on the watch itself.

Made my old phone with bad battery life usable.

Garmin is the only “smart watch”/fitness tracker that does this and does it well. Wish it wasn’t as pricy for the week long battery devices.

Lutris makes installing GOG games with proton pretty easy. Haven’t had issues on my end
