Hey, y’all! Just another random, loudmouthed, opinionated, Southern-fried nerdy American living abroad.

Why would they? What Nintendo is doing works really well for Nintendo. They’re over 100 years old (which is considered a young company in Kyoto!) and are not about chasing the best and shiniest, but what works best for their continued long-term survival. They will always do their own thing and at their own pace.
I genuinely prefer when the companion characters aren’t playersexual, since it makes them feel for real to me. It also gives me a reason to switch up things like gender or sexuality for my character on replays. The only reason I’ve ever played as BroShep in Mass Effect was to romance characters I couldn’t as FemShep.
I was watching a video on YouTube yesterday of someone’s favorite romances in video games, and all I could think watching it was, “You’ve never once played as a female character, huh,” because all his favorite romances were for straight male characters, and that just felt so, I dunno, limited and boring to me. Romance Garrus, romance Dorian, try to role play and not just play as yourself.
But Microsoft told the FTC they specifically were not gonna do that after the merger, which is why the FTC is angry at them. https://www.polygon.com/24065269/ftc-microsoft-activision-deal-layoffs-appeal
there are no other dog whistles
the one-dimensional specist asshole with absolutely no other character trait.
I used to think that about Ashley until I did what I nicknamed my Asshole Run. I was an Adept, so I usually had Ashley and Tali around me. I ended up listening to their elevator conversations, and Ashley treated Tali a lot differently than she did Wrex or Garrus (the ones she saw as a military threat) - she warmed up to her and treated Tali like a little sister. So when Tali died in that run on 3, Ashley was gutted and was crying when you go talk to her afterwards. Seeing her actually have a character arc made me like her a lot more.
Eh, it depends more on what you’re used to. I personally hate using a mouse and keyboard and greatly prefer a controller, and it’s not that different from other RPG games that use a controller interface. I’m used to a wheel interface from games like Mass Effect, so it’s more intuitive for me than a mouse and keyboard.
I feel like HFW kind of lost the plot when it introduced the Far Zeniths. They just didn’t work for some reason. I kind of wish if they were going that route, they had been the descendants of the people who left for Far Zenith and they had a better reason for wanting Gaia and Earth or something, so they weren’t just cartoonishly evil.
He not only said he knew in 2021, he went and claimed again in the next Indieland that the money was going to a bunch of places when he knew it wasn’t.
I’m glad the money finally got donated - even though the amount donated doesn’t cover everything they had in 2022 and doesn’t include anything from the golfing charity, so something is definitely sus there - but yeah, no one is ever going to trust him again, and they shouldn’t.
That’s what I was feeling watching it, too. Maybe it’s because I recently watched that big Hbomberguy video on plagiarism, where he went into detail breaking down another “My Response” video to someone accused, rightly, of wrongdoing, but this whole video had me more distrustful. I really want to be wrong, but something’s not adding up.
From what I heard, they were dropping from four companions to three, Mass Effect style, and wanted the combat to be more like God of War. So my fear is it’s gonna be like Andromeda, where you can’t control your companions’ abilities at all.
