Don’t know if there are gacha mechanics but Roblox has been widely criticized for basically using child labor. The majority of content is user created. Don’t know how exactly it’s monetized but i can’t imagine it’s good.

Anbernic has some GBA layout ones, although I’m pretty sure they’re not aluminum

My pickups have been Horizon Forbidden West, Subnautica, Spelunky, middle-earth: shadow of war, and Pony Island

I don’t have exact price breakdowns, but it was total about 60$ with the vast majority of that being H:FW at 45ish.

Yeah I agree the control scheme contributes to the difficulty quite a bit. Between the dodging as you described and the lack of animation cancelling leading to “queueing” actions, you definitely need to be deliberate about what you’re doing.

I’m two rememberance bosses in and having a good time. My main criticism is that the bosses are AGGRESSIVE. They seem to be balanced with summons in mind because you almost have to draw the bosses attention away to get in decent damage. Still fun tho.

I’ve noticed some frame rate decrease in the open world and some minor bugs. I’m not sure if that’s my fault tho; I bought a fancy new graphics card and cranked up all the settings, and I’m not sure if my relatively older CPU and RAM are keeping up.

Should have been in there from the beginning imo

Elden Ring for sure. Lots of tools to help with difficulty, and you can leave and go somewhere else.

Sekiro is so much fun once it clicks. Honestly it took me all the way until >!Sword Saint Ishin!< but suddenly I went all flow state on him, and beasted through the game for all the other endings afterwards.

Pretty forgettable Fallout clone imo. Would just play that.

Or, if you’re like me and accidentally bought The Outer Worlds because you thought it was The Outer Wilds, go play that instead.

I played one game, got my dick kicked in, and never picked up it again. I should probably try it again with a reduced difficulty. I have been playing Against the Storm, which scratches a similar itch tho

Yeah I agree. There are definitely like 4 popular genres for this style of indie game and they stuck to them, I think.

Unrelated, but how do you tolerate that length of commute every day? I’d last 3 days before either looking for a new job or a new house.

Maybe I’m getting to be an old head but it’s OoT for sure

I played when it first came out, then again around 2018. Felt like a huge waste of potential to me. Unless there’s some legal reason, I absolutely cannot comprehend why a normal pokemon battling system wasn’t included.

Unless doing something besides just reskinning their other game (Ingress?) was too much work.

Remembering this made me turn to dust and blow away

Imo the biggest differences are the jump and that you are stunned for SO LONG after taking a hit in DS3. Otherwise I find them pretty close.

Very cool looking. I’ll have to put this on the list, probably following ER’s expansion

Just picked up the bundle with Rain World and Niche. Thanks for the rec!

🎵 one of these things are not like the others 🎵

Both of DS3s DLCs were really good but I thought that The Ringed City was pretty hard, maybe a little too hard. Ashes of Ariendel is great and Friede is one of the all time best bosses.

Damn that’s a bummer. Disco Elysium was one of the most unique and cool games of the last few years

I’m addicted to Soulsborne games now so maybe there’s a connection

Toejam and Earl on the Sega Genesis

I played LoR a good amount over the years and always enjoyed it. I switched to it after many years on Hearthstone but eventually got really tired of the shamelessness of their P2W monetization.

LoR was always so generous to F2P players with cards and game modes. Within the past year or so, my main game mode has been path of champions so I’m not entirely disappointed to see their focus shift to that as the primary game experience.

But the honesty in this FAQs will probably make me go drop a little money in the shop after this.

Somehow this seems even more deranged than the first and I’m so excited for it

Is there a way to find an existing building? Like, I know I have a carpenter built but where the fuck is it? That’s the qol update I was hoping for

Not sure if this totally counts but my favorite is the Chao raising systems in the Sonic Adventure games

It takes two is the obvious suggestion, and I’d personally also recommend vampire survivors

I played it on release and found it underwhelming. The combat was a little shallow and the cult mechanics too easy.

I may give it another spin once this next dlc comes out tho

Returnal. It’s hard as shit but very well designed

I’ve got a 1660 super that I paid WAY too much for like 3 years ago which is still definitely adequate but I do get the itch to upgrade…

Diablo and star wars being on this list is insanity
