The world they built for the game is hundreds of terabytes, it’s really the only way to do it without forcing players to preload tiny chunks of the world and restrict their flight to only the ones they’ve downloaded.

This is the attitude that forced Blizzard to rework everything about themselves, caused FFXIV to launch in a disastrous state, and made Concord

There’s definitely an aspect of catharsis in showing that kind of person how much better at the video game you are though. I don’t play a lot of PvP but when I do, and everything clicks, I absolutely get it

I guess my plan to hold out for the Pro to see if the regular console drops in price isn’t going to work.

I’m saying that if there aren’t enough players to sustain a multiplayer game globally you’re not going to find people to play with locally.

If it wasn’t for hundreds of people likely losing their jobs it would be really funny that Sony’s greedy, cynical attempts to cash in on the live service fad keep failing

People can barely find anyone to play with globally over the internet. It wouldn’t work as a lan game.

Really interested in this but would rather wait for a full release - just wanted to thank you for posting on Lemmy as well as Reddit. Everything about this project seems so sincere and I’m not used to that with new apps

Look you can go to the WoW, FFXIV, ESO, and OSRS subreddits or search for them on Twitter and see that the communities are still extremely active for these games. WoW has 75k on Twitch right now and MMOs are awful stream games. If you don’t use mainstream platforms you’re not getting an accurate read on what the mainstream opinions are.

You don’t see anything except Linux discussed on Lemmy because Lemmy has a couple thousand active users. There are Facebook groups bigger than the entire fediverse.

You don’t see those commercials anymore because television isn’t relevant anymore. The internet is full of ads for the new WoW expansion, just like it was full of ads for the new XIV expansion and ESO expansion when those released.

Dead? WoW, FFXIV, RuneScape, ESO, have millions of players. What world do you live in that these games are dead?

More expensive than WoW and FFXIV, and those games let you have a bunch of characters on the same sub. Amazing business move

Within months of Craven’s introduction of Banks, Craven claimed Banks had been hospitalized after dropping a KitchenAid mixer on her foot, according to both an anonymous former business associate of Craven’s I spoke to, and my own past conversations with Craven. Several hours later, her leg was allegedly amputated, and nearly 48 hours after the first operation, her other leg was amputated as well.

How did nobody realize this person was lying or fake? Double amputation from a broken foot?

It’s likely that Concord’s lifetime peak will be lower than Deadlock’s closed beta peak

Replacing the live service game with a one-time paid game with no microtransactions is the perfect way to sunset a title like this. Good job Nintendo.

It sucks because Windblown looked cool but now I don’t want to support it.

Stardew Valley has really good multiplayer now. Might scratch some of that Minecraft and Terraria itch.

Not a fan of Krafton but I’m glad this team gets to keep their jobs and hopefully they’re allowed to make a sequel.

I came into it off the high of Hades so it felt pretty empty to me.

I didn’t care for the game much at launch and bounced off it, great idea but none of the systems were very developed. Combat specifically was very watered down.

Is it worth coming back now that it’s had a bunch of updates?

Valve is probably perfectly happy with just making sure proton compatibility is good. They don’t expect developers to change their whole workflow to cater to the Deck, that’s why they’ve done so much work with proton.

Lemmy overall has somehow managed to become an even more negative place to post than Reddit

If my carrier did this I would switch. Having a backup connection for outages at home has saved my butt multiple times.

She has no problem with actual porn but you’ll need to find an excuse/get permission to play BG3?

Doesn’t seem like a healthy relationship dude

Lemmy has bizarrely high number of commenters that I can only describe as “Ken M, but sincere and angry”.

Probably at no point ever again. Bandwidth is so cheap these days that producing and shipping anything is always going to be more expensive.

DND settings have an option to exclude apps, try excluding Wireless Emergency Alerts.

This dumb shit is why Google keeps crippling the accessibility API more and more. Idiots need to stop clicking on stuff just because the app asks them to.
