There’s a number of cracked games now with online play enabled, you just need to make a burner Steam (etc) account to use it so your main one with purchases doesn’t get nuked if they catch on.

They should get comfortable with me downloading cracked versions of their games.

Thank you for the more reasonable feedback. I’ve gleaned from a few youtube channels that it’s worth checking out for at least a little while if you don’t bring certain expectations to it. Outside Xtra/Xbox in particular had one discussion that made it still sound interesting enough to give it a shot.

And if nothing else, I could consider it “Train Wreck Simulator” and enjoy it for a while from that angle.

That sounds about right. I’ve gotten a few replies back then that I would assume were AI generated if I received them this year.

Epic’s customer service sucks. Consider my last experience from a prior xmas sale:

• had multiple games in the cart with discounts applied, checked out with paypal, but for whatever reason the communication broke and didn’t go through
• my cart then got stuck in a limbo where I couldn’t check out with any method to receive the discounts, everything was full price again
• opened a customer support ticket to get the problem resolved, then went through 3 days of back and forth, explaining the situation over and over because
  • each of your replies are handled by whoever the next agent is
  • who apparently don’t read any history of the ticket, so they provide feedback or advice that already didn’t work
  • and it can take a full 24 hours or more to get a reply that ignores all previous replies
• by the time the error was resolved by a competent person, the sale was over by only a few hours
• despite the fact that I only missed the sale window because their reps were incompetent, they refused to make any exceptions to apply the sale prices I had been trying to checkout for 3 days

So, fuck them. I only claim free games from them now.

And I concur with problems other people have mentioned.

Playnite is a better free option for a library manager and the steam integration doesn’t break constantly.

On one hand you’re right, on the other Twitter still isn’t regulated either, and there are kids everywhere.

If they’d just actually manage the endless copy spam channels in some categories that make browsing a chore, that would actually be an improvement. And the underage kids that suddenly show up. All they need is a couple of people dedicated to monitoring and banhammering a few particular categories and it would be mostly taken care of.

You’re welcome, it simplifies things so much, and I find deals I would have missed. Note you can also filter out DRM sources so you can remove Ubisoft, EA, Epic, etc. My bookmarks only include GOG, Steam, Battle.net, Rockstar, DRM free, and Other.

You can use https://gg.deals/ to see all the keyshop prices at once, and can log in with your steam and gog accounts to sync wishlists. I have bookmarked views for $5 or less, and historical lows.

They can raise it to $90 if it makes them feel better and I’m still a buyer at $10 or less, and an immoral archivist until then.
