cunny has been a disaster for mankind

i like disabling apps I rarely use but still need from time to time, like Spotify

Yeah but system apps can be updated separately from the main OS on Android, so that doesn’t really apply

Seems like it’s for security, reducing the attack surface, or just some way to make Fuchsia useful lol

Do you have any sources or docs on that? Sounds pretty backwards but also new to me. I pretty recently tried to download images (using Glide) without any special permissions and it failed since the app was missing the android.permission.INTERNET declaration (just like HeliBoard)

Any way/plans to make it an almost 1:1 Gboard replacement including layout and Material You styling support? I use FlorisBoard with Gboardish rn to achieve that, but it’s got some issues like missing word suggestions

It doesn’t even declare any network access permissions (and according to the README’s policy, it won’t in the future), so it couldn’t even be a keylogger.

Man that rule is such bullcrap. Imagine a photo editor that only allowed you to edit your own pictures and only those matching the app’s content rating.

Fuck Google’s recent changes to the quick settings panel, really. Especially now that One UI 6 didn’t revert those changes like it was done with One UI 5.

Its encoder is. A decoder requires royalty fees. Not too terrible tbh but a fully open codec is still preferrable.

For a better Linux experience for example (Wayland). Also it apparently has some added accessibility improvements too

If you’re new to it, maybe check out Katawa Shoujo: Re-Engineered. Same story but ported to be more modern under-the-hood. Apparently there’s even a web version thanks to Wasm!

Does that make sense in terms of DMCA and yuzu tho? youtube-dl got taken down for DMCA reasons on GitHub a while ago, while that was pretty much just bs. I haven’t looked too much into what yuzu does, but it seems like it’s just an emulator without any tools you’d need to also get it to run, to get the game data and some Switch (DRM?) keys. That’s comparable to browser cookies being used by youtube-dl to download websites’ media.

Also (to me) it more looks like the yuzu devs themselves made stupid choices to promote piracy, not really including the actual app code though

I was faster and more accurate in typing manually (~ 70 wpm) than with swipe typing with Gboard (~ 50 wpm) lol. Maybe I’m just more used to using FlorisBoard daily tho

Nowadays it’s mostly anti-cheats refusing to run under wine/proton. This contains a helpful list of where they work and don’t: https://areweanticheatyet.com

This seems neat, too bad it requires IDE support. Hope JetBrains IDEs support it soon.

There’s a reason why Google and Apple let developers test out pre-release versions of their OSes months before the release. Companies which don’t test their apps out to prepare for new versions are at fault, nothing else.

Definitely not using just the F-Droid app on your phone. Some apps utilizing adb might make installing .apk file(s) like this game on WearOS devices easier though
