I bought it a couple of months ago and oh boy this game is amazing. The story is really well written. I am not much of a first person shooter guy but this game is definitely worth it. The story is great, the atmosphere is amazing, it is a really well made game and especially now with the overall international state of affairs and the rise of AI, its depressively dystopian story feels even more relatable and even the fighting is fun and versatile.
Like every year, they release cards NVIDIA - 50 and call it a day. But they should realize they are the underdog here and really need to more aggressively price their products if they want to gain any meaningful market share. And it doesn’t help that their prices are falling a lot faster compared to NVIDIA.
Give it a go again. I am playing it for the first time right now and this game is absolutely amazing. I heard they changed quite a lot of things in patch 2.0 and we are already at 2.21. Plus how many games are receiving support so long after release. Yes, their release was a dumpster fire, but they managed to fix most of their bugs and now the game is in really good shape.
Seriously, why so much hate for this game. The game at the moment is pretty good.
It looks gorgeous, has an awesome story and a fun and versatile combat system. I am not too much into first person shooting games, but I am playing it right now and I am hooked. I think this game is easily in my top 5 if not 3 games of all time.
I have had this game for ages and only played a bit at the beginning. I like that it is very detailed and has a lot of historic context. I think the Devs spent a lot of time trying to make it really close to how things were looking back then. I am personally not a big fan of the story, which in my opinion is a bit dull and uninspiring, but I like the fact that you are first complete noob, that can die by pretty much everything in the game and you slowly build your skills and become more skilled.
There are also things I don’t like. The whole combat system is very clumsy, the unlocking doesn’t work with a controller and since I am playing it on a SD, I needed to install some auto cheat to be able to break into chests. Saving is also quite frustrating, at least at the beginning. Herbalism also doesn’t work too well and is clumsy. Overall I would say it is 7.5/10 game, definitely worth the try but not a must.
I am patiently waiting for Kingdom deliverance to get released and a couple of weeks or months to see what the reviews say about the state of the game. Then I will decide whether to buy it or not.
Another two games on my radar are RDR 1 and Indiana Jones, Pentiment and Slay the Princes but waiting for better discounts on those.
AMD is notorious for screwing their releases, they usually announce prices very close to NVIDIA, then reviewers give them subpar reviews and after a couple of months they start to lower the prices but it is usually too late and very few reviewers are updating their verdicts so people think they are still crap even though now the price is a lot more competitive making the whole package a bargain.
I don’t know why they do it that way, and I can only imagine that this hurts their brand and sales.
And what makes you think, things will improve in a generation or two? I think the NVIDIA master plan is eventually for everyone to use GeForce now, AMD will probably offer some kind of alternative to that with physical cards, but most likely they will continue being overpriced.
